How come these top-secret devices don't come with self-detonation systems in case they fall in the wrong hands? Even Apple puts a kill switch in its phones.
From the title, I thought it was some research about rats literally feeling each other's pain.
Think about it, a method to make an attacker feel the victim's pain would pretty much guarantee a Nobel Peace Prize to its inventor, effectively putting an end to warfare as we know it.
I am having a blast with Guitar Hero Mobile, which came pre-installed on my TMo HD2 (whose original ROM I just flashed last week, after years of custom ROMs).
Seriously this is getting old. All this spyware, malware apocalypse shit is just FUD spread by "research" backed by companies that have an interest in selling AV software.
Now the same will happen to Android, as it becomes more popular. Wake up people!!
OK, replying to myself. The first article shows a pic of the crew floating around on April 1st, but the second articke states "minus the weightlessness."
Money IRL is backed by debt, a promise to honor the debt by a central bank. Currency has some stability because people have fairly reasonable expectations that a government will pay back its debt, but it's not 100% trustworthy (just look at Greece).
The problem with Bitcoin is that it's not tied to an index (e.g. 1 bitcoin = 1 US dollar) nor is it backed by anyone.
With the imminent success that will be Star Wars: The Old Republic launch (jury still out on whether this sucesss will last very long), every company in the MMORPG business is scrambling to stay relevant or minimize losses. SWG will fold December 10 (source: Google), Rift dropped the initial price of the game to a ridiculous $4.99 and is offering some free weekends, FF is getting revamped.
I say from a business perspective, Square Enix is right. FF is still hot property. Milk it while they can!
Oh, almost forgot. Saying that Brazil has hot women everywhere is like saying the US has Natalie Portmans and Megan Foxes everywhere. I've lived in both countries, so I know.
Brazil = Party all the time, hawt women everywhere, everybody is too busy having fun and consuming liquids with a high concentration of ethanol to be too serious about such evil things as world domination, a generally happy and stress-free bunch of lads.
True, it's party all the time over here, so we don't have to worry about corruption in government, high unemployment, high crime rate, high taxes, violence, crap public health and education systems, high taxes, crazy ass traffic, and other shit (besides high taxes) that leave this country economically far behind the other BRICs.
The truly sad part is that a brazilian-made iPad won't be any cheaper than the imported model we currently have. Brazilias usually spend the most on gadgets compared to other nations, due to... you guessed it, high taxes. Even if we have it our way, Apple will get greedy and charge whatever the market will bear (i.e. possiby lower taxes becomes Apple's margin).
And by the way, we drink acohol alright. Ethanol is for cars.
It's time to get out of your parents' basement if you have enough time to play several MMOs (and be any good at any one of them), but lack the financial means to do so.
Sure it's a technicality, as the ROMs aren't art of the emulator, but it's obvious they don't want people playing Atari games, because they probably intend to release thm on the App store.
PowerISO is usually one of the first things I install after a fresh installation of Windows. I'm glad that's one less piece of software I'll need to worry about.
On a related note, how long will it be before anti-piracy groups accuse Microsoft of facilitating piracy with ISO support???
I used to come to/. for the latest news on mobile gadgets, but lately all I've been able to find is news about inisibility cloaks, vaporware electric cars, and Bitcoin.
Like any other issue where businesses are involved, it depends on whom you ask. Microsoft will obviously say the PC isn't dead, as most of their income depends on it. Apple will say the PC is dead (but not the Mac). Mobile device makers will say the PC is dead.
The real problem is that not many businesses nowadays depend solely on PCs for their income.
It still mostly works, it's only the hold position feature that stops working.
Then you're holding it wrong.

I read TFA, but haven't visited H&M's site.
Only a legally blind person can't tell those pics are Photoshopped.
The chicks' bodies are EXACTY the same, except for the head/hair.
Even their faces aren't very naturally looking (sort of uncanny valley).
Considering we all know that inexpensive Android tablets suck bad, I just can't fathom the pile of poop this sub-$100 tablet will be.
1999 just called. It wants its flagship shareware download repository back.
Seriously, today there are so many better sources to get free stuff (legal or otherwise) than Download.com
Why even bother?

The larger version of the map has a scale measuring elevation. How do they measure elevation if there's no sea level on the moon?

Oh, my brain will explode now!!!
How did they simulate zero gravity and its adverse effects on the human body??

> Whoever agrees to work for the lowest wage gets a job.
All job hiring has been done like this since... forever.

I was going to post a witty Starcraft reference, but how are we going to *safely* extract and enrich (or ship in a rocket) uranium in outer space?
No BJ? Really?
Because Graham Bell, Thomas Edison and others were interested in "thought-provoking ideas" and NEVER wanted to instantly monetize on them...
As if turning corn/sugar cane into ethanol wasn't enough, now mussels will become fuel.
What's next, pizza fuel??
