i hate to pick *but* the Bill of Rights isnt worth the paper its written on, you should instead quote the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms located at http://laws.justice.gc.ca/en/charter/ which actually holds legal weight.
"For even more specificity, use area code plus local exchange number.."
local exchange number? those are a giant mess in windsor... 948, 256, 257, 974, 945, 979 etc.
in the past it made sense: 2xx was west end, 9xx was east end. there may be more but thats just right off the top of my head.
"If you get a little power flicker they are gone, they hold onto the last piece of traffic they had (usually an arp) and just keep repeating it until the network floods and goes down."
I can confirm that this is absolutely true, I have 1 linksys 8 port switch that is connected to my router. My router does not like what the switch does when the power flickers. It does not like it to the extent that i have had to reflash the firmware 4 times because of the switch going into 'retard mode'
just be thankful your school system uses a language that might help the students. My HS uses a horrible language called "Turing". Its pretty much BASIC with added slowness and instability. http://www.holtsoft.com/turing/intro.html It runs like shit, crashes whenever it wants, and the first time you try to complile, it will always give bullshit errors that dont show up when you try next time.
Ontario Hydro: the nightmare of most Ontarians. My neightbourhood has been running off of a temporary transformer for about 3 years now. Its been there since the original 1950's one exploded from overheating one summer.
That may be good and all, however it is no match for playing the games on an old dos machine. Mine is a Pentium 233mhz. currently running the version of dos that shipped with win98SE, for 2gb hdd support. It has full network support including webbrowsing using arachne. Its a great machine that i hope to put freedos on when it finally supports all the games i have. The case, monitor, keyboard, mouse and speakers havenot changed on this machine since 1993. it has only been upgraded.
its called the 78XX series of voltage regulators. where XX is the desired output voltage. a lot of electronics that use 6v in use a 7805 to regulate the voltage to 5v.
