Since the ARTISTS that produce the music get a small share of the sales, I'm beginning to think that the RIAA and its like are just a means to keep lawyers employed. Wait....was that a news flash or did everybody else already know that?
That's it! That "slow" 7mhz processor can boot faster and looks like it's running nearly as fast as a pentium class PC. It's not the computer that's fast, it's the OS. And it all runs on a floppy.
It has a built-in NTSC port, so it's easy to create titles/pictures/amimations for video, even if they are a little crude by today's standards. Don't do it Like I used to, though.
There are a few games I like to play on it as well. Most of this can be done better on newer computers, but since it's here......
It's still the only personal computer that I'm aware of that can display separate windows in differest screen resolutions at the same time.
For what it's worth, I still have my A*Star on my desk. I've upgraded it over the years and all that left is the case and keyboard. But till last year, it was out main PC. It's been in use nearly every day since 1987. Next to my Amiga 1000, it was the best.
Even though it was built in 1985, it can still do a few things that the newest of computers can't. That after nearly 20 some features are yet unmatched gives it a place in history.
And while we're at it, I find those male/female plugs and receptacles offensive! They refer to human sex organs and thus, the terms are perverted. I don't want to think about penises everytime I plug something in the wall. And what about the children?! This must end!

Several months back I spoke with a friend, Suzie, that works in the comics section at the Washington Post. She ran into Breathed at a conference. Since they were both new parents, they talked about their kids. Suzie suggested that a new strip might be a great way to express his views about this new phase in his life. He agreed.
Thus Opus
It seems very weak. Under the heading, "Illicit harvesting of electronic mail addresses", it says that "uses an automated means to obtain electronic mail addresses from an Internet website or proprietary online service operated by another person, without the authorization of that person and uses those addresses in another violation of this chapter, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than one year, or both." Nowhere does it state anything about using someone elses list that MAY have been illegally generated. And what about overseas spammers? What prevents me from going to Tobago and setting up shop? And what prevents Tobago, or some other 3rd world country, from becomming the haven for spammers? After all, if it generates tax revent for them, it's doing some good for them.
Interesting. I've never heard anyone describe Gates as having a "passion for life". read a book about him sometime. Sadly though, you did discover that I am but a soulless stump, friend to no man and reviled by all. My paranoia and I will go back to the damp cave where we hide.
I think if we go back to the early days of computing with the Altair and the like, all software was "open source". You couldn't buy sotware, you had to write it yourself. It wasn't till later that people began to figure out they could make a buck off the software. Unless every coder in the world works for MS, (or some other large SW house). somebody, somewhere, will be turning out open source software. Or more folks will learn to code.
Today's motorcycle has developed into a safe and efficient product. Two wheels means redundant systems. A failure of any one process at speed, power, brakes, tires, is not only survivable, but will probably result in no injury at all. Even a steering failure can be handled safely due to the gyroscopic action of both wheels.
The problem with the Embrio is no redundancy. A system that fails WILL result in injury. Imagine the power, brake, tire, computer or a gyroscope failing at 65mph. The result is another highway statistic.
Fed them to sharks. Would PETA object?
The world is once again safe for boring toys.
He said the Imperial Walkers were on the way. (Does this mean the US Army will now develop plans to thwart Luke Skywalker?)
This is just more FUD from the master. "Please sir, may I keep just 1 PC that runs DOS"?

I wish we could go back to the days when we we all bakers and and had really good bread. .
It's an undocumented upgrade.

Then, we'd only be paying off one set of crooks.
For years, it's always been the same. "Whatever we're selling, it's what you need".

Or is this going to be the EU version of the Software Business Alliance, whose idea of crime is copying software?
but my ass has gone numb from sitting in this chair and looking at this screen.

I'm sure that Linus has more friends than Bill Gates anyway.
Once I predicted the end of 16 bit chips. Then I found one in my PDA...and my cell phone....and my clock radio....and my DVD player.....and......
Now all I need is legal protection if I violate the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. Who's going to pony up for that!
So why does he want to go online and be nasty to strangers in cyberspace? I suppose, because someone creates a new application that lets him.
