Riker was the worst TNG character. Episodes centered on him made me nauseous... Ugh.. The one where he was going crazy and it ended up that he was in some romulan prison... I can't even bear to think about it.
Creatively and technically speaking, there are a lot of things you can do in a dark room that will probably never be duplicated by any digital camera. The creative possibilities of an 'open' camera could open up new fields of opportunity that might offer more interesting alternatives to such techniques. Nothing specific, really...just possibilities that could raise the status of digital from photographic artist's perspective.
I played Diablo2 on bnet a LOT immediately after d2's release, and I rarely had problems connecting in a timely fashion. There were times that the waits were long, and very rarely, there were scheduled downtimes. Bnet wasn't nearly as bad as it was made out to be, and it improved VERY quickly. Within a couple months, it had evolved into a well oiled machine.
Why don't we give Blizzard a chance to come up with their own solutions? I would be willing to bet it will be better than any sort of forced load-balancing garbage. Blizzard delivers....always...so far.
I don't remember it too clearly, but I'm pretty sure that was one of my favorites. He was actually building the thing in his quarters, if I remember right. Hmm... I'll have to track it down and download it.
I think he meant that they could be 'so much more' in that they could function in camera-like ways that extend beyond the capabilities of their film-based counterparts. That's how I interpreted it, anyway.
As it is, digital cameras still can't take the place of film in all situations. 'Open' cameras could serve to narrow the gap.
BTW, while we're on the subject of Jordi, anyone find it ironic that the guy whose eyes were almost always covered up was played by LeVar Burton who has these *really* big, conspicuous eyes?
Hmm.. I hadn't ever thought about it that way, but, now that you mention it, I find that to be quite a stroke of genius on the part of the show's casting crew and producers...potentially.
I do, however, agree that Jordi was one of the cooler crew-members.
Considering you know the name of jordi's almost-lay by heart, it doesn't really surprise me that you identify with him so well...if you catch my drift. Personally, I thought Worf, O'Brien, and Data were the only cool ones besides Picard. Everyone else was too emotionally/intellectually unbalanced for my tastes. Actually, the Crushers were pretty well balanced, but they were just tragically retarded.
Guinan and Cue dominated them all for overall coolness.
This happened to me with Diablo 2. I would wake up very excited to go and play with my new items and skills... When I realized...I wouldn't even want to play anymore. Helped me start the day off without spending 6 hours in front of diablo2. Without these dreams, I might not have my current job..which I obtained while addicted to diablo2.
They aren't....until THEY PLAY DOOM 3!

They just need to fire samzenpus. Every 5th article he posts is like this...and the rest are mostly mediocre.
I know that's what photoshop is for...currently. You seem to have it all figured out. I'm envious.

For some reason, I just knew this would be something that was posted by samzenpus.

DS9?
Once you had a little bit of mechanical energy, couldn't you use gravity and leverage to help you generate even more? Not to mention the heat...
Efficiency might not be as great? Seems backwards considering the extra step, but...I'm just taking a wild stab.
Anyone else using the Family Portrait as their desktop background?
Sick? Nah.. It's easy. It exists to sustain life. Life exists to sustain it. It is life. Life is it.
...maybe you were right.
Whoa...I'm getting dizzy.
Most of the time, I think, yes... ;)
Interesting... The scientific take on god being light... Been waiting for this one. Thanks.
because it can.
Cool enough to provide you with a reference point from which to make a generic joke that scored you a funny point. You're welcome.
I only wish I were witty enough to come up with a 1, 2, 3, 4, ?, profit list for you.

I think he almost laid some engineer chick from some holodeck program, once. I think he, then, he met her in real life and totally freaked her out.
That's as close as I ever remember him coming. No pun intended...ha...ha.....ha.
I get the feeling samzenpus is just severely out of touch.

Makes me want to watch Blahbalicious and Operation Bayshield...
