When I first started using P2P apps, I went to WinMX because I had heard good things about its diversity and lack of negative attention that Kazaa got. It worked alright.
Then, I tried Limewire. The difference was night and day. In almost every case-ease of use, availability of unknown bands, number of dead downloads, anything-Limewire was ahead of WinMX by leaps and bounds.
I went back on WinMX recently to try and find something because I was on a computer that wouldnt run any Java programs (stupid restrictions on the school comp). I was astounded at how impossible it was to find anything, and when I finally did get the song I was looking for, the person refused to allow me to download it (I disabled uploading, and the seed didnt like that).
I can't believe WinMX is #1 with such a superior product on the market.
Back when i had a palm, I had an m125. The problem I had was that the digitizer went bad, and it stopped recognizing the stylus altogether after awhile. You can imagine the problems that presents. This happened on not one, but two m125s (I returned it for a new one, with the same exact problem; I gave up on it and traded it in for a PS2 about 3 years ago, to replace my first-gen PS2 that had also gone bad...)
If they wait until Longhorn comes out, there won't be enough time for instability and exploits to develop for Win2K before Longhorn is available for purchase. What incentive for buying is there then?
If I can't trust you to do what is right, I don't want to work with you.
That's assuming that what they did was wrong. I fail to see how it was-the information was there, Stanford had it posted on public pages (granted, the URLs werent listed, but the fact that they were there at all without any encryption or password required shows that they were available to anyone).
I live in west Minnesota, The middle of nowhere and hick central. The elementary schools here have always used Macs because they're cheaper (or at least, they were up until a few years ago, which is why everyone is still using first-gen iMacs at the public elementary schools). Everyone knows what a Mac is. Ask someone what Linux is and you'll get a blank stare.
How do you 'guess' OSX is a third option? OSX is a much more viable option as an alternative to Windows than Linux, and much more popular to boot. Grab anyone off the street, and 10x more people will know what 'Macintosh' is as opposed to 'Linux' (even better, try a distro-guess the number that will recognize 'Debian' as opposed to 'Apple')
However, you get about the same amount for your money in real dollars-$300 in 1995 bought you a Playstation, which also doubled as a CD player. $300 for a Playstation 2 in 2001 bought you that and a DVD player as well. If the next generation has some sort of DVR capabilities, that would be the next logical step-you get all this for the same $300, so I think with inflation it about evens out.
Do you not understand that the little plus sign next to Netscape means Firefox?

I can't stand wireless keyboards. I type at a decent speed (~60 WPM), and whenever I'm on a wireless keyboard the keyboard doesn't keep up with what I'm typing (in particular, the shift key-I have to make a conscious effort to slow down and hold down the Shift key long enough for it to notice so that I can capitalize a letter). I use a laptop anyways, so it doesnt really matter on my comp, but on my family's desktop it gets annoying.
Oh, I'm certain. You should've seen it a few months ago-it was exactly the same as Google's main page (same tabs, options, everything in the same places). They've changed it slightly since then but it's still completely derivative of the clean Google look.
Well, hardware is their main revenue stream, but that's in Game Boys, not Gamecubes. Nintendo does sell hardware at a profit, but the main cash cow is in their portables, not in their consoles.
I've never had Farah get stuck around corners or anything like that...Prince of Persia was the perfect example of how to do AI bots right. Did you have problems I somehow avoided?

Or this article is just a couple of years late?

Ever read "The Dead Past", by Asimov? You just described it. It doesnt work out so well.
(second post about asimov short stories I've made today!)
Hari Seldon? Multivac? Asimov was contemplating this idea since the 40's.
I think CherryOS looks like a more reputable source. They, like, charve for their product.

And what happens when we move on Pyongyang and they launch a preemptive bomb on Seoul, killing millions?
Wow, I read it that way and thought to myself, "Yes! A certain +5 post!", then I come on and find it in the first post :(

Sounds sort of like the original announcement of Star Wars Galaxies...
Hey, we're the land of 10,000 lakes. We've got lots of water!

Booth babes have been around since the beginning of the show, when the industry was growing by orders of magnitude. I think you're wrong.

Did you even click my link? Try again.
As opposed to what? Yahoo?
Well, whaddya know, I just checked and you're right. I thought it was connected with Sony somehow.
Learn something new every day...
That would require Sony to acknowledge that Live exists...
