as a stockholder it depends what your investment objectives are. For instance, if a large established company has very low growth, yet consistently turns a profit, you make look to them for dividend income, but do not expect the stock price to rise very much when compared to the rate of inflation or some other 'low risk' investment.
However, wall street will punish a company if it does not exhibit growth. Earnings growth is a major driver of stock price, and no growth = no increase in stock price.

oh yeah, IMO eventually the tried and true method will result in stale movies just barely making profits with little or no earnings growth. That's not what alot of stockholders want, you can get that kinda performance from bonds! Risk is proportional to amount of reward expected.
What I would like to see is a spinoff from the major Hollywood houses, into smaller (publicly tradeable) production companies. Therefore, if I want to invest in a Company that thinks Matrix:Rebooted, revisited, & Re-MD5-Hashed will be profitable I can invest there. Or if I think the upstart company feels that never been done b4 productions will be profitable, I can put my money there. Most likely a combination of the two based on my risk aversion profile (risky).

I have a Panasonic 42" EDTV plasma, been using it for 8 months. Playing Madden footbal, and using My computer - no burn in. Now I have never used it more than 3 hours straight with the games or the computer, but i have no complaints whatsoever.
After Viewing All other technologies (at the time), I purchased two televisions - One A CRT Projection Sony (HDTV) 46" and a Panasonic Plasma (EDTV) 42" (both highly recommended on almost every method of research I performed). Hands down, the Panasonic kicks the Sony's ass, I have NEVER seen a better picture (I've only been to best buy, circuit city and The Big Screen Store, and there ilk). The real word black level performance (eye candy view) is just as good. Matter of fact, I bought the plasma just because the room that it's in was so small. I planned on using the Sony most of the time, especially for movies. The plasma is so much better, the CRT justs sits there most of the time.
My advice would be to 'jump right in' to one of the games that is very difficult to you right now. My first FPS was back in the Quake days, and I started late (people using all types of cheats/bots/hacks/etc). Plus the skill of many clans.

However, it prepared me for the next generation of games. I knew what to look for as far as cheating was concerned, and it forced me to sharpen my reflexes. When Unreal tournamnet appeared, I was ready. Now some clans ask me to join. I'm not the best out there, but I can hold my own.
As far as Cheating in UT, you have to look for servers with the latest versions of things such as 'PURE' or some other form of Client Side Hack Protection - this is usually posted in the name of the server. Of course, someone usually figures out a way around it, but the serious Clans and Admins usually keep on the ball and either boot(Kick) or ban (IP Ban) anybody found cheating.
Also, you can usually find somebody (after a reasonable amount of effort who is willing to act as sort of a Jedi / Padwan relationship, teaching you tips and tricks and secrets.
One good site is UMXTREME, although the gameplay may be to intense for the newbie, especially the Extreme Overkill Mod.
My clan's site FTB where it's just about having a good fragging time, we have newbies and experienced members alike in the clan, and we will BAN any cheaters.
If Apple only makes oney from the sales of iPod, what happens when enough of them enter the market, greatly decreasing sales. I know they will always be coming out with a bigger & better (or should that be smaller) model, but alot of people may not believe in upgrading a music player every couple of years (hell I had my first CD player for 15 years b4 I upgraded) - this is in contrast with my computer, which I do every other generation of processors (i.e. 486dx266 to pentium 2 to pentium 4).
Will apple just stop making iPods & Close iTunes when costs catch up to Profits? if so this does not bode well for those of us who want to see the legit music D/L continue. The RIAA will say 'see we told ya - Pirates even killed the legit download sources'.
Maybe Apple is trying to become a distributor, and take some power away from the big labels. I.E., Apple markets, promotes, distributes via iTunes, eliminating the need for Sony, BMI, etc.

I'm not rich or anything, but I don't mind paying extra for items of good quality. Prada just overcharges based on the name - plain and simple.
