Onboard audio I don't really care for, but a nice NIC and an onboard SATA controller are key to grabbing my purchase. I've got an ASUS P4P800 and it has been quite good to me. By the way, what kind of security do you look for in a motherboard? Aside from the (brand new) onboard firewall, I can't think of any integrated security features except for the bios password.

There is a reason most nice televisions have convergence controls, because pefecting electron streams is damn hard. A stream of electrons a half a milimeter off target doesn't bother the eyes too much while watching movies, but it won't do you any good when you're trying to write data.

What if every news site on the internet started requiring free registration to view their content? What if other sites started requring registration. What if I had to register at yahoo just to check ticket times or at weather.com just to check if it was going to rain tonight? If the NYT got really positive feedback about its registration system, then other sites might follow suit.

Sure, a phone that plays video games is a nice idea, but it probably doesn't work all that well in practice. I've got a flip phone that I've had for just about a year. I've dropped it, scratched it, and subjected it to all manner of abuse. It sits in my pocket and gets slammed into walls and sat on. I don't carry my GBA everywhere because I don't need it everywhere.
In all honestly if I'm going to carry around an expensive phone with extra features, I'd rather have a phone with a really kick-ass internet browser. I'd love to be able to look stuff up when I'm on the go without having to screw around with mobile sites. WAP doesn't do anything for me.
