These arent online games as much as CONSOLE online games. Vent and TS servers obviously have this feature. It is pretty elementary, as you state. I am also surprised in such a popular game as halo (including a sequel), this has not been done. One can only blame the ignorance of console players here for not requesting it. It's not surprising though, as anyone who is content to mouselook with a joystick is probably already comfortable with their UI being handicapped.

Although I 100% agree about videogames, banning something isn't "socialist". Many things are banned for legit reasons, DDT for example. Considering there is no hard science linking video games to violent behaviour (and I do believe a few studies showing an inverse relationship), there is no reason to have a ban. Its all about the science, not opinions people shoot off their hip with their high and mighty wisdom about. And calling the nazi party socialist is similar to calling the neoconservatives republicans.

Well I'm willing to bet that as with most drugs, my taxes paid for the initial research and development which was then given to a pharma company to develop further. Not to mention various tax breaks and other subsudies that large corporations enjoy on MY behalf. The government is me and you, americans would do better to realize that. Im fully behind the government doing all pharma research as then we would have less penis pills and more FREE drugs that in turn, lowers the healthcare costs for everyone. Why are medical companies run by private individuals for profit? Why cant scientists at universities develop, release research (public domain), and manufacture drugs? If you took all the money that people and governments spend on healthcare and gave it to universities and government run labs, you would have more than enough free (as in tax supported) drugs for all.

"You don't cure a pandemic for free"

Un the contrary, thats the only ethical way to react to a pandemic. But I bet you werent thinking of your ethical obligations were you? Thought so.

I would say anyone under 30, or anyone who has kids under 30 and has the desire to watch things for free, can and does.
