    Quake 3: Arena, compared to for instance, Unreal Tournament, at that time, was a more 'solid' engine, but it lacked ALOT in single player.
    Whereas in UT you really had the feeling the bots we're trying to fight you in a fair matter, the different level settings in base Q3, made no real difference in 'playing experience'.
    Ahwell, the people just deliver kick-ass engines, and , from the looks of it, they actually seem to have more of a set goal now for Doom III ('shit your pants' ;) ) and I think with the quality graphics one can get, it will be very, very good, and anoter step closer to future gaming.

    When was Doom III ever being assumptioned as being 'vaporware' : Come on, they worked their asses off to deliver the next generation engine : Got leaked in between, but noway , this was EVER considered of not let it get released anymore.

    Not only the price of it : Also the creativity over the years has been steadily decreasing.

    When i was young.... (lol, im 25, ahwell) : A LEGO-castle would take me some time to build : You had to build the whole thing up from the ground, every wall, bit by bit :

    Now take today : I was looking to buy some Lego for my cousin the other day, only to find out that the current Lego-castles just consist of 4 (four!) big parts (wow, the surrounding walls) and a few extra pieces for detailing.
    Bye bye, childhood dreams : nowadays generation will never agin make cool spaceships incorporating ancient-bricks from a castle wall *sniff*

    Having released 4 titles in the GTA-series, and with every title getting better : You can speak of quite a good game.
    Not that much games that pass 4 sequels, and still kick ass.

    _IF_ there was to be Multiplayer, why not make it cross-compatible with consoles and PC's ?
    This game is greatly playable , even against 'leet' pc-mousing, versus consoles.

    We need some _supported_ multiplayer with this, not just a 'add extra items/cars/models' thing like Vice City

    Don't misunderstand me : Both GTA3 and Vice City we're great sequels in a allready good serie (i loved GTA 1, over network).
    But the current multiplayer-mod available, just does not cut the grass (too buggy, yet great fun)

    Allthough i can agree on some of your points, i think the points in favour of Ringu would be that it contains alot Eastern-type story telling ,whereas the emphasis on symbols is much more important to convery certain feelings, then the actual footage is :
    and 'we' westerners just miss alot of that stuff.

    And for the , very good ending , of The Ring :
    I still doubt if this was done purely 'for the script' or to not totally rule out a sequel (would the movie be succesfull) : It still IS Hollywood, where they think that making good money is more important than making good movies.

    I agree that burning on demand (and the library charging a little fee to do so) is a good solution.
    In this case, since there are allready so much extra fees on blank CD's to cover for the music-piracy, i think that this 'tax' should not be on those CD's : making it even more accesible and hopefully giving a bigger cut to libraries.

    I wasn't old enough to have any quarters the first time around. This is space invaders 25th anniversary and i just had my 24th. Maybe I'm young and dumb. Come on. 50 cents? Anyone?

    You can't tell me you we're too young to resist the glaring stare of a Highscore at you ?
    I know i can't : everytime i see an old vintage Pacman/Space Invaders machine, i play a game on them ; Ifnot, for old-time's sake.

    And i welcome Taito to bring a few of them back on the market. My problem with it though, is the price. One can't tell me that such an arcade machine should be THAT expensive to produce these days; but i guess this is the way the market works.
    Im still sure though, that would they have released it on bigger scale, with a lower price to buy it, they would prolly be making an equal ammount of money, ifnot make Space Invaders even more legendary
    As a poor gamedesign and development student , i DO love the game, but i find it a ridicilous ammount to pay that it goes for.
    One day though... One day... *muhahahahaha**

    /me pulls his Atari2600 outtof the closet, and plays Space Invaders :)

    Soldier Of Fortune 2 : Double Helix (by Raven software) has a random mission generator
    The end result (random open area maps, with objects randomly chucked in there : works quite well imo)
    Still, if they wanted to make this work for a random interior level , it would be a lot harder to pull off : As 'gameflow' and 'chokepoints' are more easily defined/implemented in open areas.

    Try writing a 3D game, which has to run on EVERYBODY'S PC and compare to doing some animations in Maya, which just have to look good from one angle and get rendered once. Not dissing on the Matrix or other heavy-FX movies, but it's really a hell of a lot of work to support and distribute a modern 3D PC game. What if I told you I have?

    Ahyes, i remember you : You made that first person shooter MeinKampf, right ?

    ahyes, Settlers Of Catan it is : That word got lost in the translation ;) But it's a great game, and very good that, by buying the expansion sets, you keep re-inventing the same game.
