I don't understand why one would want to give anything an IP. Sure it's fun to have remote access to everything. But, it'll make it accessable to "others" too, maybe not as obvious but it'll be out in the open.
If you're afraid your house would turn against you, you really shouldn't IP-enable it (or.. firewall your toaster).
It's intruiges me, searching a space which is mostly constructed by theory and the small experiments we've done so far.
In this, from out perception, "endless" space we're looking for a copy of earth. Our entire being is based on the way our planets interact. It doesn't necessarily mean that the way we are and have evolved is unique, or that life will emerge if the same conditions are met. They do however with us, on earth.
We cannot start to comprehend how other "life" would look or act, cause it'd require to imagine something we cannot imagine. And ofcourse, already mentioned, the time and distances; relativity.
I for one, don't believe we're alone, but I don't either believe we'll find life wherever there's water.
Lets say, we observe with our eyes, our eyes have evolved to see whatever we should see on earth. What if there's more then what our senses, which evolved on our puny planet, can pick up? Etc...

My current cellphone is I think 3 yrs now and does what it always has been doing, and only what it should. I have no new reason to upgrade, and that's the problem if you make cellphones; once you sold eveyone one (sort of speak) you need to get them to upgrade even though the phones still work.
So, you bloathe the thing with games (N-gage), "supercool extra's" and personalized designs. Ofcourse, you pay for all that too.

I find this a very valid concern, and not only with minors, nor just about "porn".
How many times have you heard someone, mostly with average intelligence, say "but they do it on tv, why shouldn't I?". Media can influence the way a person thinks, even influence his morals (think 'social' reflection).
It's not about censorship in all sorts of media, but perspective -in relation with reality. Certain people seem to be unable to think or evaluate what they see or certain information they derrive thereof if it's presented in some sort of way in either form of media imo.
1. I don't like being tracked, and trust AdAware and misc tools to rid me of those evil-doers. Plus I clean out my Cookies and temp files occasionally.
2. Dynamic IP's, Proxies, and Gateways.
3. Not that again; Everyone hates signing up somewhere before getting in, and being dissapointed at the content. Repeat this over and over. You just walk away when you have to register after a while, cause you simply don't want all your info on webpages you've abandomed. (or don't trust your information, you know those tricky checkboxes and agreements noone ever reads.)
Most I know quitting caffeïne just turned out being better off; the only burden is going throught the headaches of withdrawal which are only temp (instead of returning each time you "forget your caffeine intake").
Former daily routine:
1. wake up, drink 2-3 mugs of strong black coffee to wake up.
2. Get a high out of it, bounce towards wherever I have to be.
3. arrive and feel sortof drained; Next intake of caffeine to get a new boost.
4. By noon; drained, burned up all my energy for the day already. New caffeine intake; the illusion I somehow get another boost.
5. during the day, trying to get as much caffeine as possible. Caffeine's fun! Freaking some people out with my abnormal / hyper appearance, hands shaking. (ate eraser while concentrating)
6. Dragging myself home, feeling drained, depressed; conclude it's just the way my life is. Maybe I should consider some changes..
7. Physically burned out, but hyper in mind. I try to sleep but I can't..

I actually don't care too much for special FX (but the one's rendered in RealTime on my machine;) or LOTR actually..
(I hope this wont modded 'not geeky' but I saw the first movie and it sortof pissed me off to have to wait for the next movies, which weren't yet released so I decided to not "go there again", and waste money on incomplete movies.. but that's another topic)
It seems kindof a waste to have the 3th 'biggest' computer working for media. It's actually scary to have the 3th biggest computer 'be in control' of what most of the ppl will see.
(what if that machine becomes aware.. and using images to brainwash or manipulate the.. oh network-tv already did that..)

Just saying that they have as much right to be as me,... So who defines what's weaker? Who can stand up and claim with at least a 98% certainity that it is so? Handicaps? I know blind and deaf ppl who are more catable and have ashieved more then others without that handicap. Obesity? Perhaps.. that wouldn't include me.. (see the logic?)

If you allow direct writing to your SQL and don't do sufficient checks on the input, well.. you'll get in probs with that.

2. Who will still have the *right* to reproduce? (we're crowded as it is, which causes probs enough as it is and in the near future.)
3. If noone dies, ever. And you get sick of life will there be a "right to die"? Or just wear your organs off?
4. Can you, eventually, be forced to upgrade to Liver model X cause it's considered to be more "environment friendly", or some silly reason like that.(like.. an 'impurity that would cost society more then it would to shuf a new liver/heart/lung in you'.. see also 5 )
5. Will you end up as a social outcast, or deemed "lesser" if you just, stay on your own organs or will you get pushed into some weird category? Will diversity be tolerated?

1. If you have to "say your password" at each atm to use your card, isn't that less save? Now they have to put up a cam and find a way to copy your card. (pin / card). A cam seems harder to install then a audio recording device.(the article states there is a high accuracy recording of the voice needed, which is possible so to be considered)
2. If I'm drunk and I want to get money, my voice will sound somewhat different. (same with different moods which alter the voice somewhat) will I be able to use my CC or will I have to try "different intonations" like with the cellphone voicedailing systems I have been struggling with? certainly cause there's stated the record has to be "high quality".
