if you have a good refresh rate on your computer and use indirect lighting your eyes shouldn't get too messed up. florecent lighting on the other hand is shit. i use an eclipse light attatched to the top of my monitor. before i got it my contacts would dry out and i couldn't see anything when i would use the computer for a while. now my eyes don't have any problems during extended computer use.
that may be not far off. the navy is going to be installing railguns on some ships by the end of the decade. as soon as the shrink both of these technologies down duck hunt will never be the same. pull! zap! sizzle...
the stripped down version of windows xp is actually just a re-labeled copy of red hat 9 that was downloaded off kazaa. apparently microsoft has just stopped giving a shit.
i want to try war sleeping. less work, more enjoyment.
it seems that pretty much anytime someone does something to look for WiFi they get on slashdot. when they start using the shuttle or space ship one to go astro-warring i'll be insterested.
"Still, gigabit to the desktop in a dorm room is ridiculous. I don't even have that at work."
bah, we don't server your kind here. you'll have to wait outside.
till blow-up dolls start doing the work for you? you know there has to be a company working on it somewhere. i just want to know when their IPO is. no, really.
dockers makes those tech pants with lots of hidden pockets. keep your cell and PDA in those pockets and keep your laptop in a bag that doesn't look like a computer bag. they make special backpacks that protect laptops and have room for more stuff.
label this as another of the thousands of frivolous lawsuits and be done with it. acknowledging stupid people like this makes more stupid people want to become famous.
why don't we spend all this research and plant building money on ways that have already been proven. wind and solar power. for a relatively small investment numerous high capacity solar plants could be put up. take a few square miles in the dessert, the great planes, and other large open spaces and cover them with panels. this would easily create enough power for most of the people in this country and if we need more we could use a few fossil fuel plants and wind power to make up the difference. solar cells are getting more efficient everyday. i read somewhere that if you covered 10 square miles in arizona with solar panels it would create enough power for everyone in the US. well, why don't we? no one would miss 10 square miles in the middle of a dessert and it would look cool too.
today i started a short 4 day temp job at the small phone service center here in my town. they have about 40 people and half to Sony optical drive support and the other do ISP. a local ISP had been planning to do some changes to their system and today was the day to implement the changes. they sent out instructions to all of their users by email and mail about what they would have to change. 2 things. all the people need to do is change their login name from just the username to their whole email address on the dial-up window and in their email settings. i need some quick money to fly down to florida to tour a school i want to go to so i figured this job would be perfect. 4 days, 12 hours each, $9/hour. the 20 temps they hired all got folders with instructions on how to change the settings. its actually the same packet that was sent out. i didn't need it because it was so easy. the same thing all day... "you can't connect? ok. go to dial-up networking and open your connection's logon window. as @pcpartner.net to the end of your username. now go to outlook express and go to the account settings and do the same."
the only problem is that most of the temps hired were dumber then the people calling in. neither could follow the simple instructions, WITH PICTURES!!!. my first day and i became a second tier tech. i called a bunch of people back and did the same thing the other tech were supposed to do except one difference. when i went through it the user could actually get online and get email. i don't know what the other techs were leaving out but i'm pretty sure it was common sense. sorry for the long ramble. i'm off to bed. i've got another 12 hours in cube city tomorrow.
there are a lot of IFs in your comment.
blowing yourself up with a cellphone is just as likely as someone dropping a pen down a flight of stairs then falling down the stairs themselves and having the pen shoved into their eye. that would only happen if the pen managed to ballance on it end with the point sticking up but hey it could happen. quit trying to sound smart by blowing a small IF out of proportion. plus if a few dumb people talking on their cellphones get blown up who cares? hopefully they'll be lawyers.
or tech support... sitting that long sucks ass, literaly.

if its not interesting no one listens. if no one listens there's no need to be actually on the air. a simulated broadcast would be just as effective.
exactly how interesting is a high school channel?
