    This isn't really for consumer use, it's for scientists that need to transfer data from very sensitive, high-resolution, hi frequency instruments. The kind that haven't been invented yet, but will put out that much data. someday. maybe.

    yea, but the fact that BitKeeper was used was basically free advertising for the target audience of BK. System Designer #1:
    "Well, after looking it over, we've decided to buy a Bitkeeper liscence. it seems more robust than the competition, plus linus uses it!"

    I thought castle wolfenstein was a top-down shooter for the C64. anyway, there are FPSes that predate Wolfenstein 3d for years, with vector graphics and such.

    The only use i see for that much speed on a peripheral bus is for video applications and for high speed backups. for pretty much anything else, it's a lot of wasted bandwidth.
