    unless your mp3 player has something called usb otg (on the go), you are SOL...usb is a server-host protocal, and i'm sure that both the camera and mp3 player are configured as hosts...

    linux doesn't give files run permission on download by default like windows does. unless someone su'd to root, chmodded the file, and then ran it, a file doesn't get run. i don't go out of my way to install adware and spyware, do you?

    I do think it's wierd that rather than calling the first i686 chips hexium, they called them P-II. Why? to prevent confusion? and why arent PIII's i786 and P4's i886? i mean, why rename more i686s? am I missing something?

    FLAC isn't aggressive enough compression for flash based handhelds, not to mention lacking support. It's great for the desktop/home stereo system though!

    why not use gnoppix or similar, load openoffice or whatever for 'actual work' and keep your cluster at a low priority? then you don't lose the node, and the work gets done...just a thought

    Xorg was a fork for completely different reasons. The liscensing reasons that Xorg was forked show the real beauty of open source. The development reasons that Linux 2.6 is being forked happen even in propriatary development environments, and is healthy for any sane dev team. Microsoft doesn't merge Longhorn code back to their XP tree, do they? i didn't think so.

    There is icecast, a shoutcast compatable server for linux (maybe there's a windows port? not sure). streaming media will live on, mark my words.

    IANAXD (XUL DEVELOPER) but i think that you didn't download anything, it's sorta like HTML forms, just fancy, and scripted. It's hella cool though, i just hope that other browsers support it so we're not locked in. Remember that lockin is bad, even if you're locked in to the good guys. Typing this on FF1.0 by the way!

    I'll have you know i paid for doom III and UT2004 exclusevely for use on a linux platform. Just because we have to download the free binary to play it doesnt mean we dont have to pay for things like textures levels etc...
