GPS on Mars?
·
· Score: 1
Does the moon have enough gravitational pull to hold a system of satelites without them eventually drifting back to earth? Also mars is more interesting, imo, because we haven't been there yet, and it's more of a mystery. We've already established that it's just a big rock. Plus, the US already owns the moon, our flag being our claim, so now we need more extra terrestrial property.
Why are all the ask slashdot articles these days just 'me too!' bait that the author has to be writing just because he/she/it knows that we're going to side with them. It's not really provoking any meaningful conversation.

you mean like movie tickets that cost $15? (don't believe me? go to the bridge cinema in los angeles, and get a seat in the "director's hall" (crappy leather seats and assigned seating).
Can I get confirmation from a second source before I go modifying my registry? It sounds nice, but I don't know what exactly is going on when I fuck with the registry and I just want to make sure this isn't some prankster. No offense intended to the author, but not everyone here has honorable intentions.

replying to your sig more than the post..if you've ever lived in LA (Hollywood especially), that isn't much to live on. If you want to have any sort of relations with the females around here making that much is a bare minimum unfortunatley, and they pretty much always ask you how much you make within 5 minutes of striking up a conversation.
Actually people who would use this for a living (video editors, motion graphics people) can make that much in a week. Plus the cost can be written off.
I don't know how long ago you got the iPod, but the battery life thing is a common DOA problem you can exchange it for. I know several friends who've done this, and now get several days to a week of moderate use on theirs (one has the 40 gig which I believe you have). Hope this helps. g
The thing about OSS vs. OS Books is that software requires individuals who have a knowledge of coding and developing software to write it, there-by limiting the number of yokels who attempt to contribute. With text-books, especially interperative subjects such as History or English, much of the material may end up weighted unfairly. Now the same could be said of traditional books, but with only one or a few authors, accountability is fairly easy. Perhaps this effort would be better served towards checking existing books' material for accuracy. But most of this arguement is nil when applied to this particular book, since in Math there are generally only right and wrong answers (the lower math that this covers at least).
Well wouldn't being able to identify all e-mail that is SPAM solve the problem without the database? They let junk mail go because of postage $ I believe, but what incentive would there be to not just block all SPAM (if there was an infalliable way to id it)?
In all seriousness, most of the time you are right, but some of our clients need certain things to go up at specific times of the day or on certain days, and if they have a limited web offer going up, but no one can access their site, they aren't happy (and desipite off-site hosting, guess who they get mad at?).

Aaaah! The enemy has found us! Evil management!
It's free
So now indie film makers can record super-high-res bad acting, tired dialogue, and shoddy set production. Joy!
i just stare at her boobs, especially in the rain with a thin cotton shirt on.

I have the old 23" display, any idea where I might find the pics at high res(google's only finding lower res ones, need 1920x1600)
I think you mean
Step 1. give away 1G mail boxes
Step 2. IPO
Step 3. Profit!
(Step 4. declare it all a joke)
I think the Jessica Simpson liking is more a reflection of bad taste in music than age.
..are soon property of Microsoft
Dear Slashdot,
Which is better, Linux or Mac?
Sincerely,

You turn on the TV to watch a movie... "Problems down there? TRY CIALIS!"
Have you watched TV lately? It's too late.
