Sorry but this belief is common among people who don't know much about the web, so I'm going to be blunt:
WRONG
Firefox and every non-IE broswer follow the World Wide Web Consortium (Found here) standards. The good folks at Microsoft, in typical Microsoft standards, decided that they knew more about web coding than a bunch of internationally renowned experts who devote much of their waking hours to the web. Bascially, Microsoft is letting people get away with coding things really poorly. Once you learn how to make web pages in proper xhtml with style sheets, it's actually faster to do a site, and the results will not only look the same across all platforms (except IE, which botches up proper coding while rendering the bad), but will be viewable on all computers with browsers, and can even accomodate disabled users well. So don't blame Firefox, blame IE for allowing (and even forcing) people to code their pages incorrectly.
"With 100 transistors, each containing one of these electrons, you could have the implicit information storage that corresponds to all of the hard disks made in the world this year, multiplied by the number of years the universe has been around," Yablonovitch said. "And why stop with 100 transistors?"
I hope this drive lasts longer than the Quantumm Fireball I had.
this is a pretty rad idea, could save a lot of paper on popular titles, textbooks, and other things that are bought by massive ammounts of people everywhere. i doubt it will replace the bookstore just yet, but it's a good step forward finding yet another way that machines can replace people (ie: slacker hippies will find something productive to do with their lives since they can't just major in english and work in a bookstore).
Do you have a source for the 64-bit G4 Powerbook? Thats really what I want, I dont care if they call it G5 or G4 or what the mhz are, most modern macs are pretty fast, but now that Adobe's CS line is 64 bit optimized I'd really like to take advantage of that because some of the design work I do gets fairly intensive for a laptop (mostly web so no worries about HUGE files, but sometimes comps can get kinda hairy).
I really have a tough time relating to an article that has to explain that IT is an accronym for info-tech. Stupid analysts are just guessing anyway, half of software companies being gobbled up seems a bit overstated.
I don't think the gas tank is much smaller, you just fill it less often.
I completely agree. I met all the hot girls I know in non-major classes :)
Please don't mod me down, I'm telling the truth!
*feels the -1 liar mod coming on*
Slashdot is a good example of a site that isn't coded up to standards. Shocking for a nerd site, I know, but true none the less. See here for more

Now that's progress!
Is that anything like the weekend stomach I get? It seems like every Saturday morning I have stomach discomfort and a headache.
that'll teach him!

i believe it was a cat. hopefully nasa learns from past mistakes and doesn't add the switch that sets the robot to evil.
So we get nice weather, beautiful beaches, hot women, AND FTTP? Suckers!
I hope when these robots take over they don't leave as many plot holes as there were in the film. And that Will Smith isn' the savior of man.
Judging by the current poll, i'd say this is distinctly ON topic.
Might be time to think about moving North, eh?
For 40% less pay? No.
So much for Xbox in Japan
I believe I once read about viruses which had survived in space for years as well.
I read that too, The Andromeda Strain I believe. Decent book, horrible movie.

its a movie quote after all
So 35 songs for 22 days...how many times can you really listen to 'Eye of the Tiger'?
More like /.ing.

Sulu: Captain, the Klingons are decloaking
Kirk: (smacks forhead) Again with the Klingons? Full power Mr. Scott!
Scotty: (feebly attempts to reach the controls but his belly prevents him) I just can't do it captain, I cannot reach the buttons!
I think they did away with that and now all GPS is the same accuracy. Not positive, but I remember reading that somewhere.
