Do you mind sharing where? I'm doing a photography book on Colorado and would like to include such a place. My email is i_love_junk_email at yahoo.com.
Agreed. Humorously enough, as I read your post, I saw the mention of Canon, then looked at your username and remembered seeing the same username over at CanonRumors.com. I also frequent that site... small world.
Better yet, if you have a Mac you can download Autodesk Inventor Fusion from the App Store for free, and it doesn't expire. Inventor Fusion is quite limited compared to the normal version of Inventor, but it's certainly powerful enough to create interesting/useful objects and export them to STL format for 3D printing. Trimble Sketchup is useful for starting to learn 3D modeling, however it isn't a solid modeler and as such isn't well-suited to 3D printing without using something like CADspan to convert the models to STL. The 3D warehouse in Sketchup is really impressive though and provides a great playground for downloading and working with preexisting models.
Was the intro song written specifically for the videos, or did it already exist elsewhere? It is very reminiscent of the The Price is Right theme song.
Live close enough to work that you can run or bike to and from work. If it snows or gets icy where you live, get Microspikes for your shoes so you can keep running in the winter. Problem solved!
My '95 Honda Magna motorcycle actually uses Eurostile for the speedometer and tachometer, and I like it that way. I also spend minimal time reading gauges because there are only two of them. As they say, YMMV.
You've never been to Australia, mate. Australia doesn't have as many "enemies" as America... and it isn't as likely to get nuked off the planet in WW3. All said, thousands of miles of ocean separating Australia from the rest of the world means that military threats can only come from heavily industrialized nations with substantial military forces. Australia tends to be more "out of sight - out of mind" and generally not considered a threat to any other nations.
Don't forget that if you are holding Australia in a game of Risk, you will receive two extra armies per turn.
And then there was the public debut of Windows 95, where they used the song Start Me Up by the Rolling Stones... they conveniently omitted the part that said "You make a grown man cry."
I can't count the number of times I've submitted a post where I noticed an error right after clicking submit. It happens even when using preview. Being able to modify our comments after submitting (at least for a few minutes) would be a nice addition.
Seconded. I was thinking it would be awesome to have a wedding in the middle of a salt flat, surrounded by absolutely nothing but horizon, so GPS coordinates would be a necessity in that case (if people wanted to survive anyway).
Wait until CES 2012 next week and see if Fuji announces their LX mirrorless interchangeable lens camera. If the rumors and leaked photos are accurate, it will be like the highly-rated X100 except with interchangeable lenses.
The proposed source for this water is from the western slope, ie, the Colorado River drainage, which is already over subscribed!
Agreed, the Colorado River has had so many demands placed on it that as of the late 1990s it no longer flowed out into the Gulf of California as it had for millions of years. For more information check out Pete McBride's documentary Chasing Water.
No need to worry, I get plenty of spam already. Probably not as much as most Hotmail accounts get though.

Very true. I haven't seen any "BSD is dying" posts here in a long time.
Check out the Filabot.
Does this mean no-one else is allowed to test for that genetic sequence?
Effectively, yes.

There's also radioactive americium-241 in a lot of household smoke detectors...
Noticed that... they also use European rather than American hop varieties.

Thanks for your analysis of how many folks with a 3-digit UID are left! Clearly we are among the few...
You can also find SNES controller, cartridge and video connector pinouts at pinouts.ru.

Over 600 comments and no Soviet Russia jokes yet? This must not be Slashdot...
Don't forget there is also a partial solar eclipse happening on May 20 in the Western U.S. More info here:
