Yes, because all these people that have purchased the Macintels due to all the hype that's been circulating these news sites aren't having ANY problems with them! haha. half of the applications they used to run with great speed and efficiency now run like ASS because they do not have universal binaries STILL!

Windows XP will run faster on older hardware than 2000 will. Windows 2000 is a resource hog, and even after killing most of the services will not run on a 500mhz machine with 128MB of ram very well. If you kill services in XP Pro and turn off the visualization, XP Pro will run a whole hell of a lot faster than 2000 on the same hardware.

The only downfall is the latency, which has average pings of 100ms to yahoo, google, etc. But I live in the country, and cellular broadband is the only option, as cable and dsl are not available to me. Here is just one site found while searching for "linux exploits" on google. There are more exploits for a fresh Linux install than a fresh Windows install out of the box, it's been proven. Once you tighten up security and tweak it out, it's very secure. But on that same note, the same can be said for windows. If you kill all the unnecessary services and firewall it, it's secure.

Also, for those who say "whaa whaaa itd be an invasion of a CHILD's privacy to snoop and see if they are downloading violent video games" that's bullshit. Kids don't have rights, they are not adults. When they can vote, they are old enough to make their own decisions, until then the parents need to be parents and stop being held hostage by all the hippy liberals that are morally perverted.
