That link has an awful lot of plus signs. As if you're trying to hide something on the end of the URL. But what could it be? Maybe if I clic---No! Ow! My eyes!
I can't believe they changed the goatse.cx layout.
Oh, please quit stalin. Everyone knows you're accusing him of being a communist. Soon he'll be red with embarassment. It's sickle that people always accuse him of this. We should once and for all hammer out this issue. If he was a communist, I'd, well, I'd knock him to the floor, I'd do all sorts of painful things to him.
Did somebody say Kruschev?
On the plus side, E seems to cost a lot less than other printer ink cartridges. Apparently each refill is only good for 1 night, though. That must be a mistake.
More realistically, I think they may start suing their programmers on Fridays before a weekend. Everyone knows that as soon as coders have seen a few lines of SCO source code, all their subsequent thoughts (and possibly emotions) are the intellectual property of The SCO Group, Inc. I think this interview with Darl McBride sums their tactics up well:
Interviewer: So have you told your programmers that they're going to get sued when they attempt to leave their cubicles?
Darl: [Laughing] No, no. We find it's always best to sue our own workers on a Friday; studies have statistically shown that there's less chance of an incident if you backstab before a weekend.
Why isn't this a main page topic? This is most certainly an important topic for anyone involved in the business side of software.
But the real point of my comment is to introduce a name for this side-effect of piracy, and it is monopoly-sharing. I chose this name since piracy usually occurs on file-sharing networks, but the sharers are actually perpetuating monpolies. The link is to my blog post about the topic.
WTF? RSS (all versions) can be written in XML, there's no way they could be considered a spin-off. Additionally, RSS 1.0 ("RDF Site Summary") is RDF and may be written in n-triples, XML, and a variety of other RDF serialization formats.
Additionally, it can't replace mailing lists because it's pull-only (only the owner can push new messages onto the list). RSS can be used to replace announcement lists, though (and is much more convenient in this respect for me).
What happened to Joe User? Did he finally wise up about using GUIs and get fired or something? I never really liked Joe User, anyway (I mean, what an idiot!), I'm just curious.
Yeah, Linux should come pre-installed with the latest drivers just like Windows. Oh wait, Windows users have to install drivers downloaded from nVidia or ATi's site, too.
I think it's obvious that downloading and running a program to install a driver is not beyond the computing abilities of your average gamer.
Hopefully WineX will support this advertising technology in the near future. Then perhaps they can port some of the more successful viruses as well and I can stop being envious of XP users.
We were jazz musicians in those days, just riffing on whatever cool new beat came along, and now it's carefully crafted, orchestrated; you play your cymbal -- your full-time job is to play your cymbal on the 3,084th beat of this measure and you better be damn happy doing it. If not, there's four guys waiting to take your place
Perhaps he should look into a featured instrument. Like, say, the cowbell.
Even Mr. T thinks you should buy one!
And with advertisements like this one, all the fans of Dude, Wheres My Car will want one. Those two should take care of most of the US population, I'm sure.
Ok, today, your instructions are to perform at least 15 searches on Google for anything you want. You must then write a report on how the results appeared biased/skewed. Please do not search for such a report using Google. Any student caught using MSN or Yahoo will be failed on the spot.
They sample all the time, espescially in hip hop/rap,
but they clear it with the copyright holders.
I'm not sure what kind of rap you listen to, but on mixtapes there is sampling going on right and left. Ever heard of a freestyle? Almost always someone else's instrumental with no such permission obtained.
Do you think that 50 Cent got Ja Rule's permission to mock Rule over the Clap Back beat? Well he didn't (because there's no way he would get permission for that).
You may not hear a lot of such songs because they never are released as albums under major labels. They're instead placed on mixtapes that are used for promotional use by the artists, not unlike Apple using samples in their ad(s). Of course, the original artist's lyrics are never used in this way.
I didn't see Apple's commercial, but if it was nothing more than the instrumental in the song, then I'd say Eminem has something of a double standard. There are a tons freestyles on the mixtapes from Shadyville that use instrumentals without permission.
I think if all of the guys at the top took a pay cut, they could build their own office. That's exaggerated, but, seriously, they (management) don't deserve the money they're getting. The only reason they get it is that people are in such a hurry to get a job developing games that they don't care how corrupt or wasteful the company is and wind up selling their soul to the devil (I meant "corporation," of course). Not unlike music artists under record labels (except music apparently can't be outsourced as efficiently due to more pronounced cultural differences in music taste).
Additionally, they could probably save money and keep their current offices open if they used slave labor. Just an idea.

And for the rest of the world? Oh wait, sorry, Smalltalkers are gods among programmers. So foolish of me to think of myself before the Smalltalkers.

Or with 6,307,200,000 people it's 1 second / person. If you know how to manipulate numbers, it can really go either way.

So now your electronics can get more than you do. How depressing is that?

I don't care if we mess up their planet, I hate those arrogant Europeans.

Anyone tried this "cream of somyungai" that I keep hearing so much about?
Wow. Seeing as how 4 GB flash cards seem to be going for a great deal more than that on eBay, I think I just found myself a new work-at-home job.

Here's hoping that's a lab class.
I, for one, welcome our ...reigning... Google overlords.
Would this be the 99 cent Diet Coke I've heard so much about?
Except it's usually written this way (for obvious reasons):
Convenience = 1/Security
Nope. He is Al-Sahaf according to the Something Awful Goldmine.

Any fish with three eyes? I lost Blinky while I was over in Japan...
