Fedora seems to have all the capabilities of JDS, and more. We have an overabundance of distros, far more than would be required for "choice". Choice is great, but really when one choice works perfectly well, why use another?
Why is anybody paying attention to this? It's just wrong. WRONG WRONG WRONG.
To be as nice as I can, he's talking out his asscrack. He's making satirists completely obsolete by doing their work for them. He's spewing the new kind of FUD: "FUcking Dumbarsed bullshit that is wrong on an infinite number of levels".
I hope soon consumers realise that MS is gouging them so much that they should give them the finger. It's just goddamn stupid, that's what it is, and the price increases are nothing to do with "antitrust action". Even if they were being sued for antitrust all the time, they'd still make sufficient profit from their (IMHO insanely inflated) current prices.
It's to do with them realising that consumers think that higher value == higher price and vice versa, and so they can get as much as they want out of them for Longhorn etc.
At this rate, the OS will be more expensive than the PC it runs on. Oh wait, it is!
The Daily Mirror (now just The Mirror) is a left-wing tabloid newspaper in the UK. Last month, the paper (which was until yesterday edited by Piers Morgan) published pictures of alleged abuse in Iraq which are now widely believed to be fake. Morgan quit last night and has not apologised, while his paper has.
I used to have some respect for the guy, but fuck him now-he's dragged his paper's reputation through the mud and he's making a bad name for everybody who was every against this war. If you're in the UK and want a decent anti-war left-wing newspaper, try here, here or maybe even (for the insanely left wing) here.
It works the same way over here, with the IT^H^HOfcom. Ofcom are not allowed to investigate any programme or TV advert until somebody complains. In the past, Mary Whitehouse's Mediawatch almost always complained about everything, but they've given up on that now (too costly and pointless).
It does give rise to some fairly funny complaints, such as that time when a TV commercial for toilet paper which showed lots of adult asses was complained about for being "attractive to paedophiles"...aye, that person was a cretin...
Over here in the UK, it seems that their only uses are looking good and taking (as a precursor to uploading and sending on) pictures of unsuspecting people.
Next person I see taking a picture of me with one gets it shoved where the sun doesn't shine.
Constant web-popups make IE seem sad in comparison to Firebird
The iTunes music store is still unrivaled, re-solidifying Macintosh as the OS for multimedia
the latest version of MS-Office, MS-Office XP
When was this comment written? It hasn't been Firebird for months now, Windows has had iTunes for yonks and the latest version of Office is Office 2003.
I'm happy, I'm behind a firewall on XP right now, and am firewalling off another PC running XP at the same time. Both PCs are safe, both are running fine.
But still, it's stupid to have any OS that has all these worms going around. I'd like to see Microsoft go through what they already have in their codebase and pull these little fuckers out, then patch 'em. Patch 'em good, patch 'em hard.
Yeah, it's not open source, less eyeballs on the code etc etc, but I'm sorry but if Microsoft, a corporation which is not only making in the region of several billion $PLURALCURRENCY a year but is a frickin' defense contractor, can't invest some money in poking through their code and going "nope, some script kiddie piece of shit is gonna 0wn that" then there's no hope for us all.
(Note: I have just moved to XP from Linux because of hardware not working. So far I haven't got Blaster or been cracked in any other way. I must be lucky or something. *g*)
Thunderbird - Because my inbox quota frankly can't live without it
iTunes - IloveitIloveitILOVEIT (and we don't even have the music store over here yet)
Latest MSN Messenger - Because all my friends and family have it, and will doubtless expect me to gawp at their oh-so-revolutionary "new features" such as buddy icons
AIM - Because I have friends on AIM
ICQ - Because I like ICQ as well
Dreamweaver - For syntax highlighting and quick layout when I just can't be arsed
Do we really need another distro?

Fuck. There goes a few million

A new, original form of trolling has been discovered!
Being a Republican.
(awaits karma destroyage)
Decaff.
I've been drinking decaffeinated coffees for ~3 weeks now, both filter (supermarket own) and instant (Kenco).
I've felt generally better, had less problems sleeping and have worked better as well.
If you love coffee, give decaff a try, it sounds weedy...it isn't.
I'm sorry, but that just wouldn't work.
Ann Coulter...you just can't.

I think I need a lie down.
Exactly.
I wish people would stop reading meaning into everything, it's just stupid. It's just like those people who see Jesus on tortillas...pure idiocy.
Holy Grail? Puh-lease.
It's probably just what it said in the article: a dedication. I find it hard to believe that they'll find the Holy Grail from a 10 letter code.

That's odd. The BBC is reporting he was fired, CNN says he quit. Firing sounds more likely out of the two though...

*COUGH*UK
My karma is so bad because Funny mods no longer give karma, meaning that Overrated mods hit harder.
Damn stupid decision, if you ask me.
My Two-Penneth:
The new Sexual Offences Act 2003 in the UK makes it illegal to have porn that shows anybody who looks, in the eyes of the court, to be underage.
Oh, and this law applies to children as well. Go figure.
What the point of camera phones is?

Holy shit that was the longest comment ever...
No can do. We can hammer your karma to shit though

I thought I had no life...
Until I read this. Cheers!
Actually, that would actually be funnier.
Damn, I HAVE to make that video. Just imagine.
"Badger badger badger badger badger badger badger badger badger badger badger DEVELOPER DEVELOPER"
What sort of dance did Steve do this year?
She somehow promoted Photoshopping though.
