Google makes really cool enhancements that are REALLY intuitive. Yahoo might let you customize, but in such a linear way. Google is really good at what they do.
We're becoming more and more of an ADD society... EVERYTHING has to be right here and right now. Streamlined.. Perfect! Why don't we compare our ability to do tasks today compared to ten years ago? No, in the future, it will be worse. Our attention spans will all be shot to hell. We won't be able to watch shows more than 10 minutes long. Television networks like E!, VH1, and Mtv will be the highest rated... oh.. crap.. it's all ready happening.
People (A9.com, MSN search, etc) don't seem to understand that the reason why most people use Google is because of it's lightning-fast interface. It's simple... It's quick... The second I hit MSN's search page, i though, "Ugh... Look at all the CRAP that has to load every time I want to go here."
I hear this argument time and time again. The start-up time for Firefox is slower than IE. So the hell what? Me, I leave Firefox open all the time, so it's really not a relevant problem. So maybe Firefox isn't embedded into the operating system, which forces startup to not be quite as zippy... But come ON.. Get OVER that, all ready. I think all the other things you gain in return for the extra 3-5 seconds is well worth it. Give me a break!
I played the hell out of "The Sims" when it first came out. I would imagine +, - signs over people's heads when they interacted with each other. Creepy, really.
I agree. It was all a big media frenzy.. The media controls what we, the Americans, care about. Right now it's the Tsunami, next month it will maybe be the war.... or a cuban boy who is trapped in Colorado... or in a well... hostages trapped in an elevator.. Something... Whatever they mention that peaks our interests.. They're *always* watching the ratings board.. the second they find something that snags us, they pound it down our throats until they've squeezed every drop out of it. Covering something that is losing viewers? They cut it short.. This is how it works.
Huh... I'm a little surprised that more people within Google aren't using Mozilla/Firefox. I recently read about their exhaustive hiring process... You'd think they'd get more employees who knew a good browser when they saw one:)
Something tells me plans leaking out about these incredible new phones would do nothing but good things for Samsung. These just happened to leak out? But the slides are so well designed.... Almost as if they were to be "customer facing" *raised eyebrow*
I wish you could set gmail to mark it automatically as "read" so you don't have that bolded Spam (1) in your menu... For anal-retentive bastards like myself, it will drive you nuts!

I'd download it if it wasn't the clunkiest looking interface I'd ever seen...
It will end when the robots decide they can use us as a fuel source.
"Muahahahaaa... We'll serve them FREE ice cream in the COLDEST month of the yeaaarrrr!"
Ehh.. I saw this on memepool this morning. Best of luck to the University of Calgary's lab web server...

The other inmates will scream, "You've got tail!"
"Welcome!! You've got jail!"

I used to hack in to my old school's WANG system to check out my grades, etc, but never did change anything. More curiosity than anything.
ah, yes... another web server crippled by the hungry web community of slashdot...

You can trick out your ride.

Someone has already done this... And it was in the news... It was like 1.5 years ago. Heck, was probably on slashdot, too.

Heh, I was considering posting this story... *snaps fingers in disappointment*
Intel is playing catch-up to AMD.... Internet Explorer is playing catch-up to Firefox... 2004: The year David would strike mighty blows to Goliath.
This website currently (quietly) offers 1TB webmail accounts, which is pretty impressive.
