Yes. I trust a loaded gun with the safety on more than a gun that's loaded, cocked with a hairtrigger that is being passed from clumsy person to clumsy person a thousand different times.
My favorite is the prescription drug commercial for an allergy medication... "Side affects may include sore throat, itchy nose, coughing, and sneezing." wtf? aren't these allergies?
I love the idea of mp3 players merging with cell phones. If you think about it, it's a very natural merge. And, ideally, MP3 integration would force the production of more comfortable handsfree headsets, and perhaps one day, a headset so seamless comfortable you would never have to take it off.
I disagree. It is true that there are a lot of web savvy users that read the NY Times, but, speaking from my experience of people I've migrated to Firefox, you'd be surprised about the number of them who had maybe *heard* of it, but hadn't given it enough thought to give it a try. Perhaps this will give them enough of a push in the right direction so that they will actually give it a try. It's hard to motivate someone to go out to a webpage and download a piece of software to replace an existing piece of software, especially when they still don't have a clear picture of how much better the replacement is. It's like convincing someone to change to a newer, better tasting cereal, when lots of them really are quite happy with the cereal they have... If only they'd try that new cereal, though, you know they'd be hooked.
I honestly thought it said a WMD had popped out while playing. Something like that could really hurt Sony's bottom line. "I've heard of violent video games, but this is rediculous!"
I'd imagine people who work pretty heavy in Microsoft have to be fairly web savvy. I wonder if most of them use Firefox outside of work... You know... to browse the web with a REAL browser.
Mozilla has just built themselves a reputation of taking products of ginormous corporations and making them better, that's all... MUCH better. I think they're doing an amazing job with Thunderbird, don't get me wrong. I'm very excited to see where they go from here, now that 1.0 is out of the gate.
If their goals were to make a fast, free, clean, more secure version of Outlook Express, then I think they have certainly achieved that. I think a lot of people have the expectation that Thunderbird will do for email what Firefox did for web browsing, as I've heard it touted as (not by Mozilla, but) the "Firefox of Email Clients" -- I just don't think that statement is entirely true. Do I believe Thunderbird to be a phenomenal standalone email client? Absolutely. I love it.:) I'm sure they're already tossing around potential innovations to the client.:)
I like Thunderbird, but lets face it, it's not the Firefox of email clients. If you look at the improvements of Firefox over IE, there are monumental leaps as far as features and functionality go. When you compare Thunderbird to Outlook, however, sure, it's a bit more streamlined and clean, but doesn't really offer a whole lot extra in terms of features/functionalities.
Where are the new bells and whistles that will revolutionize email clients the way Firefox did to web browsers?
how exactly are we going to go about paying our debts?
i would say tax the wealthy, but i don't think that's going to happen anytime soon. i don't know. i think government spending does need some restructuring so that it can at least get on a linear path toward paying off the country's debt.
Also in the AP, smoking leads to health problems, sex may cause pregnancy, and driving without a seatbelt may increase the risk of dying in an automobile accident.
Interesting. Did you cease and desist at that point? Obliterate your collection? Just curious. I live in a pretty low-profile area on a low-profile ISP provider, so I really don't worry about these things much. I guess they concentrate on the high populace providers in big cities, hm?
Wow.. 100 million people use Kazaa.. I think they've put suits out against approx. 4,000 people now? What percentage of 100 million is 4,000? 00.004%? Yeesh. How unlucky do you have to be to be sued by the RIAA? *cringes*
I've seen footage of people at gas stations, using their cellphone while pumping gas, and the air around them erupts in a ball of flame... Scary stuff, man. I've heard of being flamed, but that's just rediculous!
Is it like the original half-life? only it's half-life 1 on fire, going 130 miles per hour through a hospital zone, being chased by
helicopters and ninjas...And, the ninjas are all on fire, too?

I hope these work! I can stop spending all my money on cocaine! Whee!!

That big white streak in the middle? Yeah... My name's under that.

Too bad they won't be incorporating the jet engine chip for power... Those things are so freaking cool.

I'm a huge fan of the Internet and the way it empowers me to share my stuff with the world (as demonstrated here and here) :)

I've gotten to be quite a fan of buzznet for image sharing. nice interface, growing featureset, free, of course.
Oh yeah... Blogger... D'oh! :)
I'm surprised Google didn't beat them to the punch on this one... Who will take over the Internet first? Microsoft or Google?

do the chicks there put out for white, geeky american guys? if so, then i'd consider a career in India.
