That happens being, the Google has an updated technology and it goes, it will make a method it is a first in them,! It congratulates in them. To them being company percentage chance to this!!
GREAT.. Now I have to find a way to get rid of my hard-on before I go through the security gate. Now THAT makes me feel like my rights have been TRULY violated.:/
Yes, though I do think we'll find more and more video embedded into webpages containing video... Thumbnails that are tiny movie versions of the video (much like the scene selections on many DVDs).. I see a page full of thumbnails, all of them playing tiny movies... You select which one you want to watch. Sure, it's a different experience than browing Photoblogs. Takes a bit more time..
And, yeah, right now there is no way to skim video efficiently (esp through the web). But that's not to say it's unforseeable that there be a solution to this.
I'll bet Google finds a way. They're good like that;)
It's sortof like the RIAA fighting and closing down P2P protocols. Shut one down, another stronger, trickier method emerges.:) I just hope Mozilla can keep on top of them!
I think it's only a short matter of time before there are VideoBlogs just like Photoblogs that are all over the net.. It's really a question of video compression and bandwidth. Eventually, though, once everyone has a video camera on their cell phone and mobile networks' bandwith has improved, we'll see that migration to videoblogs.
I was honestly waiting for these items to be renamed very non-specificly like "Things" and "Stuff" and "Places"
"Ok now go to your places.."
"Right click on stuff... now drag that to things... THERE!"
The age of the boomers begins in 2010. :)

"No, it's not Linux or BSD"
well, of course not.. it is, afterall, a MICROSOFT XBox...
Ugh!! The interface sux0rs. takes too much space. And it's too slow, IMO. I'll stick with firefox.
Is this submission really /. worthy? hrmm.. i guess a bit of goofyness on a Monday morning can't be all bad. *lets guard down a bit*
I was reading about PPU in a magazine the other day... It's a separate PCI card that handles physics in video games (to be utilized more and more).
Does the XBOX 360 or PS3 have any special hardware to handle *just* the in-game physics?
if they build it, a florida driver can crash it.. THAT'S a guarantee...
Peter: "Lois, you know it's illegal for women to drive! A woman driving... hehehe that's adorable."
I am *ALL FOR* encasing Avril Lavigne in lucite...
I just love Google. They are a shining example of how to do things right.
Thus eliminating 98% of the tool's demand...
*imagines a new era of amateur porn... smiles*
About a year before this site opened, I considered developing the exact same idea for the website (kicks self in ass over and over again).

*Steve Nods*
*Device in pocket starts playing music loudly, he reaches for it with his left arm*
*arm movement triggers cell-phone ringtone demo system*
"BAH!" yells Steve.
*Vocal command automatically dials 911, police are dispatched*
"Calm down, Steve! You're only making it worse! Stop!"
*Voice command "Stop" recognized on Steve's computer, closing all programs*
"Noooo!!"
"Help!"
*Police department dialed a second time, ambulances dispatched*
"We can't stop it!! It's too laaaate!"
Supreme Court: So? We're really only concerned about AMERICAN piracy here. *sighs from the RIAA, smiles from Techie*
Ah, I guess it is the American way to find something popular or successful and latch onto it like those little fish that latch on to sharks.
"Oh! Look! Something beautiful! Something impressive! I must destroy it!"
pah. feeling jaded today, i guess.
Dude, you have to get your shit out of my locker. I can't fit my nun-chucks in there right now.
Firefox + Gayness - Efficiency - Extensions = IE7
Google is constantly pushing the envelope and setting new standards. Ahh, kudos to Google.
