that examines a computers harddrive and estimates the amount of space I can "hide" music data in. Then I gather the music listening habits of the machine by genre, peak play times, and other various metrics. Finally I use this data to obtain music from various P2P sources to find content the user would enjoy and secretly insert it into their play lists.
Think I can get the RIAA to pay a $50 fee per machine I install it on? I'm going to be rich!!
I'd almost be more impressed if it could have learned the routes of the ghosts in Pac-Man vs learning to avoid random movements. AI in the Ms Pac-Man game just needs to run away while to succeed in Pac-Man you need to first realize there are planned routes and then learn them.
Find a wife is allows you to do what you want. If you're not interested in being fateful to a wife to requires it then don't get married to her. While a company can't fire you for what you do outside the office you can also choose to work for a company that is more open minded as well.
So, do you really think that a civilization that advanced uses radio? I'm going to guess that they don't. I'm sure they would have perfected something else by now.
Yes, but there is a good chance at one point in their history they did use radio waves.. And if that is the case then there is a chance we could eventually detect these radio waves once they reach us. Think of it in terms of fossils and how much we can learn from them despite never seeing a live version of the animal. Look at how much we pump out ourselves.. If an alien race detected a years worth of TV broadcasts how much could they learn about us?
I swore to myself that I'd never use Netflix because of the fact that they invented the pop-under along with the assholes at X10.
Can you elaborate on this pop-under along with the assholes at X10? I have no idea what you're talking about...
What you are suffering from is a commong Windows users disorder known as Fullscreenitis. The symptoms are maximizing every app window and switching between them using the taskbar. Non-Windows users know this malady as "MS-DOS". The cure is to familiarize oneself with the concept of using windows and icons as they were intended.
The only Mac OSX app I use is Adobe Flash CS3 at school. When you maximize it tends to favor the various undocked toolbars in favor of the "stage" area. So it gives more screen area to tool bars at the expensive of the working area. I usually just hide/unhide toolbars as I need them which is annoying in itself.
As far as Fullscreenitis I dunno but even on my 22" LCD I want anything I'm using to be full screen. It just feels right. The only time I use anything not using the full desktop area is when I have multiple terminal windows open and I want to read the contents of one as I type in another. I guess it's really just my infrequent use of Macs that are turning me off to bothering to learn more.
I don't own a Mac and have only touched OSX a few times on friends machines (and at school) but I find the fact that applications never seem to really be able to maximize and there are huge amounts of wasted screen space. Now I know you can auto hide the launcher thingy on the bottom but it just seems to function worse than the newer start button designs. Am I missing something?
I own HL2 and HL2 Ep1.. I want Portal, TF2 and HL2 Ep2 so chances are I'll just buy the Orange Box and pass on the give away keys. I was thinking I'd give them to my brother but he only really games with his xbox360. Can I transfer those keys to the xbox360 versions? Or at least get a discount on the Xbox360 version of the Orange box?
I hate to sit here and be critical, but is this really "stuff that matters"? This is one of the most meaningless stories I've seen in ages on this site. After looking at the firehose and what doesn't get accepted, it amazes me that something this dumb can be posting material.
The RIAA is Paris Hilton for nerds where even the most pointless story that is related to it gets too much coverage.
The game has a system where all the party members in your group have a stat based on how they like you. There are tons of question spots where you get to choose what to say/do that add/subtract to this stat. At the end of the game these values decide who sticks around in the party at the end, who dies, who betrays you. So even though your choices don't really have any immediate direct effect on how the game is played in the end it does change the outcome for your characters.
I don't know, I wish they would do what XBMC does and play any video format instead of just DRM WMV. If they would do that the 360 would be perfect. At the moment it feels crippled in that one regard.
They were expecting humans to fly around solar system by 2000 and to distant stars in the beginning of this new century.
2000 was a common typeo in Scifi literature (should have been 3000) and because Scifi doesn't really bring in the big bucks they are stuck with sub par editors who miss the important ones like that.
Put the solar cells in space in an orbit that allows them to be in direct line of sight of the sun 24/7

would anybody in the US be caught 'dead' driving something like this??
Uh, PT Cruiser

What is minicity? I've seen it quite a bit lately but don't know anything about it. Is it a shock site? Is it a virus?
how long did it take in post? What software did they use?
at tech camp where I stuck a drive up my... well you know the rest.. 7200 RPMs is fine but those 10000RPMs are dangerous!

Yeah, that sounds legitimate.
He could just be this guy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HLpmGB3CPVk
I loved those games.. There is a new one coming out soon that looks pretty interesting.. I dunno if it's the same developers or not though.
You can see a trailer for it at

Eric
Peggy in AP is on maternity leave!
This is the first I've heard of it. Does it have any relation to Little Big Adventure?
Nope, sadly it's a completely different game. You can find various videos on gametrailers.com and it does look very interesting.

While it's not a perfect solution you can use tools like http://www.tversity.com/home or http://runtime360.com/category/blog/transcoding/ to convert just about any media file into WMV in realtime to stream over a network.

Any evil corporation worth a damn would have squashed this little problem in a week!
