  3. Umm on Google to Offer Free Wi-Fi? · · Score: 1

Is it me or does it seem everyone speculates Google will do all these different services? IM, WiFi, Bill Pay, electronic transfer of money, etc... ...where are they getting all this info?

  4. Slashdotting apps? on Staring Down a Revolution: Questions for Sid Karin · · Score: 1

I wonder if the slashdot effect occurs with mail clients. Seeing as everyone probably clicked the first link thinking it was a web page, only to have their mail app load up.

GPL code in UnixWare...SCO forced to either pay damages or open source the Kernel. Something I never thought I'd see.

  8. Isn't this a good thing? on EFF Requests Help to Identify "Evil" Printers · · Score: 1

Isn't having this feature a good thing? Its definitely not human-readable and easy to trace, but I'm sure to some CSIs it's good to have for investigation into ransom notes. Wouldn't this technology be similar to being able to have bullets which they can trace back to the gun by the markings made on it? Why doesn't the EFF fight to make it impossible to trace bullets while they are at it?

  9. Atari? on More Terrible Box Art · · Score: 1

What about the covers for most of the Atari games? I remember the cover for skydive wasn't anything like the game. Same with Tank.

You could still run into the same problem with regular phone lines. Its possible to create a DoS with normal phones. A bunch of computers programmed to wardial continously a number. Your phones would be ringing off the hook.

  12. Re:I'll tell you what happens.. on VoIP Providers Worry as FCC Clams Up · · Score: 1

Name one good reason why you wouldn't activate E911? Not setting it up is just like not using your seatbelt. It's there for you to use, but you choose not to.

For me, rather than learning a new keyboard layout or buying specialty molded keyboards, I decided to make sure I do a lot of different things with my hands to build up strength, and to make things, less repetitive. Try stuff like playing guitar, or another musical instrument, or getting a toy from thinkgeek, like the Powerball.

  18. Numbered? on Guitarists, your Days are Numbered · · Score: 1

By that? The thing can't even do divebombs, pitchbends, or slides. All it can do is chords, not to mention it sounds a lot more like a piano when a machine is plucking it.
