But, not going with gamespy may have turned out even worse as the publisher went away years ago. No idea who has been paying up to this point if anyone.

Gamepsy has the infrastructure for this already and many of these games aren't even a blip on their radar. Seems like the good will just keeping them up might be worth it. How much can it really cost them to do matchmaking for a game with a couple hundred players max? Article mentioned a huge price increase so someone was paying on that game but i wonder if many of these were simply left running as suggested above. Gamespy may have been providing some freebies that new owners aren't willing to.

Some people are trying to connect thru Tunngle or another LAN simulator, including a number of us playing Flatout2.

It took weeks to build a matrix for just WA (350+ taxcodes) and ID (3 codes at the time). 20 year-old Unix software beat out most new programs as it actually was possible. My technique might have expanded to a 3rd state but after that I doubt i coul d have made it work.

They also lose seniority when they move from co-pilot to pilot. My dad's best friend was a 747-level co-pilot for ages because he was top of the chart for seniority and got to chose his routes/schedules first. When you 1st move to pilot you would then get whatever route noone else wanted at a slight pay increase or even less income because of less time/easier route.

They have to say BOTH that the water gets colder and that it turns to solid/ice. Seemed to me, 'gets colder' was a given but has to be in answer for full credit. VERY few correct answers on this one, lots of partials obviously.

On the other hand, the fact that not everyone could read the volume (110ml) in the beaker was kinda scary. They either couldn't interpet the 10 marks between 100ml and 150ml as 5ml each or they made up an incorrect unit.
Also there were a few that didn't get either colder/freezes/solidifies/turns to ice for 1st example...I assume they were taught 0 is freezing at some point...just what did they answer?

IF the company bills Medicare (and i can't imagine a typical hearing aid company not) then they need to charge the same price to everyone since Medicare gets upset if you charge them more(never mind all the extra paperwork). If they sell them to you at $4000 and Medicare finds out they will want that price rebated for the last 7 years worth of sales. If it could cost them millions they have NO incentive to help you out on price. I am guessing the discounted price is what they actually receive from Medicare
or the allowed billing amount. ((you can bill Medicare more but you won't get it))

The place linked above doesn't bill Medicare i would bet, thus they are not restricted in pricing them the same. I don't know the cost but probably $3000 or less and without reams of paperwork involved they could sell well under the $6000 mark.

Paperwork is expensive and healthcare generates way too much of it with Gov AND insurance companies AND private billing for the same item much of the time. Sometimes Government pays a big chunk, an insurance company picks up the remainder except for a co-pay by individual...lots of paperwork!

We had to maintain 2 seperate companies so we could bill Medicare (ok, Medicaid in our case) and nursing homes. Thus even MORE paperwork. Company sold out...i am the maintainer of the 6 PALLETS of Medicare/Medicaid paperwork left behind.
