So under your premise then, when you go to MacDonalds, and they have marketing material up on the wall, it's indentured servitude?
You're using Google's servers FOR FREE. You are in their place of business. Seems perfectly normal to me that they would show you an ad by using keywords in your email. Better that than seeing an X10 or Casino ad popup every time you browse a page.
You must have learned this term in school and have been dying to use it for a month now. Your point is not very pragmatic.
Just a name dude... Jan can be pronounced "Yan"... There's a hockey player with that name. Jan Hlavic (sp?).
I have a funny name (Costas). Got in tonnes of fights in grade school bcuz of it too. Stuff like "How much did you Cost Us" and "Crusty-Ass" and "Cock-Ass" and just about everything else you could think of.
I got over it. There's a lot more to your dad's problems like social development and stuff...
I for one feel that I'm better for it. Makes me less interested in persuing common trends and am willing to take steps to go against the grain.
I'd contemplated going by my full name (Constantine), but am unwilling to switch it because my name is part of my identity, and I've got no issues with my identity.
Too much vanity in the western world. That's why shows like extreme makeover exist. It's really sad.
In spite of this, Canadian television has yet to produce a domestic hit television series,
Hmmm... Like Kids in the Hall? This hour has 22 minutes? North of 60. And I'll bet Hockey Night in Canada is a hit television series.
In fact we have produced some fine content.
monopoly = monopoly is a situation where for technical or social reasons there cannot be more than one efficient provider of a good
Technically, that's a natural monopoly - one where economies of scale make it a virtually impossible barrier for entry. eBay for example has a natural monopoly. No other company can establish the clientelle to build an online auction.
Cable Co's are not natural monopolies. They can be forced by the FCC to open up their transmission lines for a fee. As well, signals carried over satellite do proved some competition, however I'd argue that Satellite and CableCos forms an Oligopoly, where it's easy enough for all parties to work together for increased profits.
Yeah, beacause it's so difficult for google to search their http logs for all the searches that go on anyway.
I really don't think it's a conspiracy to infringe upon your privacy. You never had it to begin with! Every GET style request is already logged anyway.
Totally agree. Google is slipping. Searching for product reviews doesn't get you a review any more, just pages that link to other pages that have product reviews. Those aren't useful at all!
So in a nutshell.
1)Write an engine that imports ingram micro's product list.
2) Punch ever search term into google. Copy the results into your own page with banners and pop-ups.
3) ?
4) Profit
Really, the largest threat to American children in America is that they are fat. I say load up MORE books so those little fat-asses can get some exercise...
Let's see how far into the depths of moderation hell this one goes:)
This thread's getting offtopic dude... Still they modded you up to interesting so it warrants a response. Obviously the moderators are on crack today
Well I find you a threat to me, only I have no evidence. Can I come invade your home without reprise? And if you defend yourself, can I label you as a terrorst for resisting my "liberation" strategy?
However, if it decreases the market share, then I hope that will mean good things for all of us, lower rates. And that would be a good thing.
Technically the market share will stay the same, electricity will tap into a market share Telco's don't feel is profitable or Cable Co's Don't feel is profitable or both don't feel it's profitable. Doesn't mean the market isn't there dude.
Then when they've taken that, they'll have a customer base so they can compete with Telcos and CableCo's...
Or they'll be jerks like satellite and over charge at $99 a month hoping to take advantage of rural areas.
Either way, there's more cometition. It's what we need to lower our rates. Yay! I'm all for cheaper interent access!
I gues you've never installed Postgres on FreeBSD.
cd/usr/ports/databases/postgresql73
make install clean
And firebird:
cd/usr/ports/databases/firebird
make install clean
Yeah, way easier with Firebird.
lol when evaluating a database, it's not important to look at "ease of installation" unless your an IT "pro" who can't follow instructions. And there's a quite few out there...
According the Patriot Act and Patriot Act II, the FBI doesn't need to ask him... They can just check his phone logs, computer usage, bank information, and anything else they want, and don't need a warrant...
USA: Land of the Formerly Free:)
Yeah, you totally missed the press release.
I must have missed the press release where Kodak announced that they were going to stop making film.
You DO know how to use google right?
http://msnbc.msn.com/id/3948032/
Kodak will be making film for quite a while.
ROFLMAO... You're insightful.
Hmmm... That's a strange question. Is it any more secure than someone standing over your shoulder watching you type? The Bluetooth spec has a small, limited range. Someone / some device would have to be placed within a few feet of your work area. I mean, shoot, put a wireless webcam up and get the monitor as well...
Really, why go to the trouble to place a bluetooth sniffer in place when you can set up a wireless webcam instead?
What about Police Academy III?
See, there IS hope for Slashdot users! Techies everywhere rejoice! Stop reading pr0n and bribe the hot chick you work with to marry you! =D

They post a link to a site that nails you with a bunch of crappy popups only only has a link to a massive codec pack, not Real Alternative.
Here's a better link to Real AlternativeSo take your browsing elsewhere if you don't like it. I hear fark.com likes users like you.

IIRC DEC Alphas were 64-bit a long time ago... Were they SMP though?

Remember Amazon's deal? They sued over the "one click" checkout. It's already happened successfully.

How is this informative? This product's been available for ages at little dollar stores and stuff... What's next, he'll want a concave side mirror?
Didn't you learn ANYTHING watching the A-Team? I recall almost every third episode they hacked a landline with a phone tap :)
