  2. China Seeking Royalty Claim! on You Are Here (On Earth) · · Score: 2, Funny

The Chinese government is claiming to have property rights over all thing relating to "Great Walls" and are demanding the universe pay royalties for using this "Great Wall". In other news, the computer used to generate this map of the universe was running Linux so SCO is now claiming ownership over the entire universe. Permits to live in their universe may be purchased at any local SCO vendor for $699.

  3. Hmmmm.... on NASA Scientists Get Custom 24h39m-per-day Watches · · Score: 0

If NASA did use a wrist-computer running Linux, would this mean SCO would go from international pest to interstellar pest??? Will it ever end?

*sigh* People on slashdot take everything too seriously. I code.

  7. hmmmm on Doom 3 Vaporware no More · · Score: 0

Judging by how well the alpha ran, and what systems are out today... April Fools seems appropriate if anyone expects this to run worth a p00p.

  8. dammit! on Sir Mix-A-Lot Using Weed To Distribute Music · · Score: 1

I read the headline and got my hopes up. I hope him and his big-bottomed women burn in hell for this outrage.

  9. But on Turning A FX5900 Into A FX5950 Ultra, Tool-Free · · Score: 2, Funny

Will it turn my 5950 into one of those sweet 288MB Wildcat cards from 3DLabs? That would be worth the risk.

  10. Re:Oh joy... on DOS Emulation Under Linux - a Simple Guide · · Score: 1

Sorta like running Scorched Earth in DOS under Windows under Virtual PC on Linux under VMWare on Windows NT, right? ...I think I lost myself.

  11. Oh joy... on DOS Emulation Under Linux - a Simple Guide · · Score: 2, Funny

CLI emulating CLI. Seems redundant.... or even repetitive.

  12. So... on Double Pulsar Discovered · · Score: 1, Funny

I remember one time I was trippin and threw a ball into the air and it never came down... could this have caused the ball to hover over my head for 20 minutes? This probably wouldn't explain how the ball was laughing at me though....

I posted a comment on an earlier story and I was wondering if they were finally going to use my idea of killing civil rights leaders that caused the stink in Florida because of GTA3's "Anti-Haitian" views. KILL EM ALL!

  20. They're just afraid... on How Much Broadband Usage is Too Much? · · Score: 1

  21. Only $2.5m??? on Army Looks at Robotic Dogs · · Score: 1

How many millions did those idiots sink into designing and building the first Aibo? They really expect to make a quality robotic dog with all of this functionality with only $2.5m? It sounds like they're just trying to shut someone up that kept saying "come on guys, give it a chance!" Seriously, have you seen Aibo try to run and keep up with a person and still remain somewhat "stealthy"? This project is doomed from the start and our tax money is funding it. $2.5m might not be that much split 250,000,000 ways, but how many bad $2.5m ideas have they come up with lately?

  22. ROFL on Investigating Online Movie Piracy? · · Score: 4, Insightful

"The scene is closed to much of the world; would-be participants have to gain the trust of insiders and prove their worth before gaining entry. And the lifespan of groups tends to be short, at least on the Net, where players come and go."

It's only closed to those who don't know about P2P apps, IRC, FTP, WWW, E-mail, CDR/DVDR, and any other method of transferring data... and the easiest way to gain entry is to type something like "/join #warez950". As far as the players, they don't come and go, they just change their names and keep doing what they're doing. I'm sorry, but how silly is this article?
