    "This Pentium4/Athlon decision makes perfect sense - if someone can afford the higher-end processor, they can afford the higher priced OS." What about donated P4/Athlon systems? You may not be able to buy them, but somebody gave you one. Now you have 2 choices, run linux(or *BSD, whatever) or steal windows.

    Netbeans seems to be a decent IDE for developing Java under OSX also. Netbeans is available for Win32, unix, and OSX.

    Boring how? My Nextel phone constantly screws up, and there's some spots where it will drop 100% of the time. Sounds like he should have more work to do than he could deal with. If it's boring because there's no work to do, send him down to South Florida. Or maybe they could start working on getting Nextel up in N. Georgia.

    I can't wait for this contract to end!

    Mostly good examples of religion being used for the wrong purposes there. One nitpick though (and I'm sure I'll be flamed big time for this.) The haulocaust was not the world's worst genocide. Terrible yes, but compared to other recent genocides, it was hardly in the top 5. It is definitely the world's most publicized genocide. Sadly, it's the only one most people in America have ever heard of.

    Good idea. HP should do that. Nothing like responding to a help desk call that a printer is spilling ink everywhere, and the office ladies used up all their maxi-pads soaking up the ink.

    Not to mention some areas of wilderness where humans aren't the only problem. I've you've ever been in a place where you might just find something charging because it sees you as a threat to it's territory, a large caliber handgun is quite comforting.

    Actually, that seems to mainly be a problem with your minorities in the inner cities. Fireworks are legal in the boonies, and are much more fun. Or shoot into the dirt so you can have fun digging up mangled bullets the next day. And often times the guy shooting the gun into the air in the city (where there's a much denser population to hit) is a convicted felon, so yeah, he shouldn't have that gun in the first place.

    Hilarious sketch, but of course a real geek would have no problem reading a windows disk with mac or linux, a linux disk on mac, etc. Unless you just are feeling lazy. And a good geek could probably come up with a more BOFHish excuse anyhow.

    Interesting, from what I've seen, project Pluto was scrapped because of the radioactive exhaust and the fact that it would have to fly over friendly nations on it's way to the USSR. They figured once the warheads were dropped, they could just fly it in circles dropping radioactive fallout.
