Because they "won the browser war". When 80-90% of the world uses your browser for a couple of years, you don't feel inspired to improve on it much. Only relatively recently has IE had some competition, and thusly added a simple pop-up blocker.

Screw the pop-up blocker - what I'd rather have from IE is better CSS support (not as an end-user, as I use Firefox, but as a developer, because I'm sick of making a nice looking page only to see it mangled by IE...)

let me tell you that nobody listens to the TV's throught he FM broadcast. Nobody. Everybody just reads the subtitles.
    ...
and everyone (except that one dork nobody likes) has an ipod.

Of course they are reading the subtitles - they're using ipod's which have no FM tuner. I use my crappy Ultra MP3 player at the gym, because it has 256mb onboard memory, a SD card slot for extra mem, and an FM tuner, so if I want to watch TV without squinting at the subtitles I can, and if I want to hear my own music instead, it's there. IMO it's the fact that I have a choice that counts - a choice that Apple has left out.
Notice not all the Sony players have FM - so if you want one, but have no need for FM, you can get one without it - but at least you have the choice. Apple comes off to me as a company who considers style more important than functionality, and sells more ipods based on hype than they do based on hardware.

Yes, he covered one of his heads with a parrot cage when he visited Earth and picked up Trillian. As for the third arm, he didn't always have it - he didn't have it at that Earth party that's referenced, but had it attached at a later time (but before the time period that the books take place in - so in the stories, he always has two heads and three arms).

I personally will be disappointed if they cheese out on the two heads and three arms because there are some great little bits where they come into play - like steering his boat with one arm while he leans back with his other two hands behind his head - or at times when one head looks in one direction and the other looks in the same direction to see what the first head is looking at - little quirky things like that are what make H2G2 genius, IMHO...

Maybe it's just me, but good sound is almost as important as good graphics to overall gameplay IMO. I'm not really sure I understand this article - either this guy is comparing Doom3 and HL2 by what's on paper only, or he played Doom3 with sound and inexplicably played HL2 without sound. How do you play a FPS without sound? Sound is atmosphere - good sound gets your blood running - I just don't get it - I wound't even bother playing without sound.

Anyways, sorry to say, I didn't really get anything out of this article. To sum it up: Doom3 has better graphics and HL2 has better physics/AI/gameplay/multiplay. Oh you knew that already? Yeah, me too.
