Why not use WineX? Through that, you can actually RUN games on Linux, as well as all of your other software. Oh, and I don't see why you're bitching about saving files as.doc -- Open Office does that...
Personally, I like sequels, as long as it doesn't interfere with original. I'm a little worried about EverQuest II coming out for that reason -- I don't want it pulling away current EverQuest players, making the game less fun to play -- but I'm sure it'll end up like Asheron's Call and AC 2 in the long run.
Besides that though, I look forward to sequels all the time, mainly to reexperience what I first got with the original. The major sequels on my list that I'm currently waiting for are: Half-Life 2, Doom 3, Spiderman 2, and Star Wars 3. If the first thing catches the line, the second is sure to pick up.
But I know the day when I go down, my house, computers, and everything else will go down with me -- it'll be one hugeass bloody mess. Luckly I'll have all of my scripts open-sourced so they can live on forever. But for my umm, toybox, that'll HAVE to go... maybe even BEFORE I die. Ha. o_O
Heh, most of the time movies are "traded" around is when the developers GIVE OUT screeners to people, and THAT is uploaded and passed around. So in turns, it's actually their own fault.
I don't think there will ever be a Cisco killer until we start getting some smarter people in this world. The day that one single person cannot be social engineered is the day when we can finally throw Cisco Certification out...
And yet, Microsoft sticks their foot in their own mouth once again!
In reply to Open-Source, and just Linux in general, Microsoft stated that Open-Source developers were in no way, shape, or form in comparison to Microsoft's developers, simply because they have had more training in programming. Despite the stability of Linux, Microsoft tried to brag to the world by saying that their programmers were a lot more experienced. In situations like this, we just get to see where Microsoft talks directly out of their ass.
As I have said before. Microsoft only has a set number of programmers. Even if they are ALL highly-qualified and skilled, I'm sure there are more in the world. After all, The World > Microsoft -- I'm sure, due to the odds, there will be more people in the world that are more skilled than Microsoft's developers, simply because there are more of them! It's a 7 to 1 ratio (if not more).
For people not understanding my metaphorically speaking, I was not saying that this has anything to do with Open-Source Software, but that it shows that programmers not employed by Microsoft have skill also -- possibly way more than Microsoft's programmers have.
If Photoshop is the only thing stopping from you using Linux, I suggest you use Linux with Transgaming's WineX software -- then you CAN have Photoshop on Linux. Even though it's emulated, it works just as well.
I don't think it's much of the government funding them, other than their products not working out. Maybe if Sun could focus more on their Java Desktop Environment, they may eventually (though doubtful) stand a chance against Microsoft's Windows operating system. Although I know I'm probably getting flamed for that statement, it's damn well true. The world is just sick and tired of Windows, but they can't really run to Linux (hard to use) or OS X (too expensive for the computers) though. It's just that small case of user-friendliness that keeps the world at bay...
But yes, when it comes down to wanting the storyline, RPGs are where it's at. Games like Final Fantasy, Legend of Dragoon, Chrono Trigger, and Neverwinter Nights really drag me into it and give me goosebumps.
Hell yeah dude. When I see a kickass concerts, I always want to see them again -- I'd even pay the same price just to see it again. But if I could pay that same price to download it so that I may watch it many times, I'd enjoy that a lot more.
I think it'd be a pretty good idea to just sell the concerts in general, even if someone didn't get a chance to go to one. It's things like hangovers, work, and such that stop us from going to them, even when we really want to. But if they made that in effect, they could really make a ton of cash by selling them. Maybe we'll start seeing a mp3.com but for concerts...
Yeah, I use a 17 inch monitor and it doesn't bother me at all. And yeah, there's no real reason to leave it open, other than to burn CDs, create a play list, import songs, or organize your current music.
True, and that's not always their fault. Just because people don't watch out in their design process, making unsecure software, doesn't mean the language itself bad. Take for example -- C/C++ is not are not "insecure" languages, even though they were used to create what we have today as Windows. Look at what else it did -- Linux! Now tell me, was that more of the creator or the language itself?

Sorry to hear about your friend. :(

The thing is... and I still wonder... does he have to give the stock back? If not, he can make that fine back in no time at all.
Don't continue to call over and over... Throw the cellphone away after using it. Also make sure that none of the info is registered under your name...
No. It can't.
No, I'm saying they should shut the hell up about movie piracy if they give so many copies away and to watch who they give it to.
Heh, most of the time movies are "traded" around is when the developers GIVE OUT screeners to people, and THAT is uploaded and passed around. So in turns, it's actually their own fault.
But. There's Capture The Flag. Nuff said.
Some people just have to know what it's like if they did not get in themselves. Curiosity, mainly. After all, some people have money to spare...

Lack!? It's called Multiplayer. You can NETWORK PCs just as you can XBox's, OR you can play ONLINE.
;)
At least there is a Banshee in the PC version's coop.

Max Payne isn't an FPS. ;)

That's pretty much how the stock market works though, eh?
Well, I don't think announcing that suing those people was trying to make a difference -- just showing that people actually can get CANNED.
I say we hang 'em!

Or. IRC/KaZaA/Morpheus/etc.
But for downloading music legally, I recommend iTunes. I'm just a huge fan of Apple and Pepsi, and iTunes is a really good program.
I'm sure it'll be pretty high, since they seem to be getting funded from Microsoft now...
