Nah, I'm sure they'll charge a boatload more than they would a human driver. Not because they're idiots, but because they know anyone who can afford a self-driving car will be able to afford it. They'll just say the newness of the technology and lack of risk history is the reason it's so much.
Unless you're moving really soon, you could port your current number to a pre-paid MVNO that uses the network that does get the reception in your immediate area. Then set up new service in your new home with a different provider. You'll likely be changing phone numbers at your new location but the prepaid would give you a chance to keep you old number on an active phone for a little longer with no contract as well.
If course all of these game run extremely well on just a $800 PC these days, which is just $300 more than, say your base $300 desktop.
$300 + $300 = $800. Okaaaay. Also, to spin your statement another way, "a decent gaming station costs twice what a base PC does".
In addition, the game come in at 720p at best, and the encoding quality is crap and always will be because the encoding windows is a fraction of a second long. The result? A home gaming PC is better value.
Also, those who play games are often computer enthusiasts already, and like to build and upgrade their own systems as a hobby. It's no surprise that OnLive didn't get widespread adoption. Most people on iPads are happy with tower defense, puzzel games, and angry birds. Wrong market.
I never said it was a good deal for a service. Perhaps part of the idea here is that since it's a streaming service you don't have to be on your own PC at home. You can take it anywhere there's a PC with a decent Internet connection.
They run virtualized machines that do the actual processing of the games, then stream the video and audio output to your computer over the Internet. You play the game from what is literally a remote desktop session for a monthly fee and get access to a much larger library of games than if you bought all the titles and can play them on a much lower spec machine on your side since you don't have to actually run the game on your local PC.
I think what he wants is a firewall system that explicitly cannot be controlled by the operating system without his approval. So if he blocks something he can be assured it will stay blocked regardless of what kind of backroom deals Microsoft makes.
The most annoying thing about these latest versions of Windows is that there appears to be this new class of user with control that supersedes than the owner of the hardware.
It shouldn't cost judges, military personal anything to be added as an unlisted number is for personal safety reasons.
That explains why violent crime seems to only effect judicial/law enforcement/military personnel. No one else has to worry about their own safety even if people can track them down with a phone book.
... on the other hand, according to the docs in the apple v samsung case, the itouch sales have plunged, so maybe it's time for a change in this product line.
That's Apple Marketing Manifest Destiny right there. When was the last time the iPod Touch got a decent update? They're holding back the product hardware-wise on purpose to keep it from cannibalizing iPhone sales with people who really don't want to pay a monthly data plan for a cell carriers and are attracted to the Touch's much lower total price and near-iPhone features.
Normally the iPod Touch seems to adopt the hardware capabilities of the previous generation iPhone when it gets updated. But the Touch still has a digital camera that's close to the iPhone 3G's. It has a retina-resolution display, but it's not as nice a display as the iPhone 4. Last year's update to the Touch was nothing more than it suddenly being available in white. At this point it should have a camera on-par with the iPhone 4's, which to many people was good enough to replace a standard point-n-shoot digital cam.
1. Make product mediochre by current standards to drive down sales. 2. Cite "poor sales" as the reason the product is being discontinued, implying it's just not something people want. 3. Release newer product that's more balanced in your lineup compared to other models. 4. Profit on both ends.
I wonder if this is already doable. Like make a quicksearch bookmark but then use pipe characters to separate multiple target URLs (like how your home page tabs are formatted in the home page blank). So the term you use for the quicksearch is inputted into the "%s" point on every URL, opening each on a separate tab.
I could sit here and try it out to see what it does but I'm feeling lazy.
dead serious, I have a 100$ best buy card.. Ive had it for 2 years.
Might want to double-check they're still worth $100 and Best Buy hasn't started charging you an "account maintenance fee" for not using them. I know such fees have gone horribly out of fashion with most retailers after consumer backlash to them originally, but this is Best Buy we're taking about.
A fridge left closed should have insulating properties be able to keep food from spoiling for a good 24 hours. So not having power overnight shouldn't be a problem as long as everyone's asleep and not getting midnight snacks.
Is there anything wrong with Windows 8 besides the Metro interface, though? I went from XP-64 to the Win 8 DP and now the RP. The upgrade solved some issues I was having with HD video playback and some other apps. Metro is a stupid interface, yes. But I just click to the desktop and ignore it. I have my most used apps docked on the taskbar and my screen size is large enough I can fit a lot down there. I still get the UI hardware acceleration benefits and other under-the-hood improvements of Windows 8.
What other reasons are there not to go to Windows 8 if I'm going to be paying for an upgrade regardless.
You can actually just use a local account--but it's not the default, and is quite unobvious.
Yeah, you had to read the entire screen to find it listed right there under the options of using an existing sign-in and signing up for a new account.
I suppose you also set up the wireless connection to your router even though you had an Ethernet cable already connected to it because you didn't see the "set up later" choice to bypass that step as well.
My Windows 8 RP install crashed itself three days ago, and the install was only two weeks old. Tried a reboot and the system booted up already logged in to my user account (and this was a full reboot, BIOS screen and all) and I couldn't get past the login screen to log out of it properly. Tried rebooting again and the system wouldn't boot to Windows 8 at all. It went into a self-repair mechanism and couldn't fix the issue. I also couldn't "refresh" or "reset" the installation. Only solution was a full reformat of the hard disk.
Thank goodness it was a dual-boot machine to start with and I could still boot into XP-64 (that was on a separate internal drive). Was able to save some configuration files but lost a few actual files. So I guess it was a disk directory issue.
Why isn't Khan embracing criticism and review/removal/replacement of his videos by knowledgeable folks? I would be rewarding people proofing my many videos and trying to get more people doing that instead of dismissing it as "nitpicking."
I doubt those people are wanting to help him improve his educational experience for free and make themselves less relevant. They deride his attempt to change things because they'll be the dinosaurs if he succeeds (at least in their line of thinking).
Just because you weren't treated the with respect doesn't mean you can't be a better person and treat them professionally along with respect.
"Being the better person" is nice way of saying "Let them get away with it."
If no one tells them when they are doing something wrong or mistreating their employees, then they can just as easily keep doing what they were and plead ignorance to how it was making people feel.
If what goes around comes around, aren't you simply returning what they did first?
He bought a ticket to the movie and propped the door open himself, then left and reentered from outside.
Probably the only way he could get into the theater with all his gear. He couldn't very well walk in as a patron with full body armor, his weapons, and a gas mask on and bringing everything in a bag would have raised the theater's suspicions he was sneaking in snacks from outside.
Maybe there wont be a separate "theatrical" and "extended" editions now and the complete film is simply being broken into two parts to get around the long length issue in theatrical run.
No, it's just curious.
It wishes an exchange of information and is trying to create an ad-hoc network with one of its series of tubes.

Don't you try to tell me anything prick. I remember it being from the 70's and now you're going to call me a liar?
Yes, we are.
Also, LOL to posting as Anonymous Coward but identifying yourself as the original poster: ArhcAngel.
Its just the exterior of the car that was printed, not the motor or the wheels or whatever.
Well I'm not that impressed now. 3D printed body panels... oooooo.

I was thinking of that Jim Davis, too, since Dilbert had just been mentioned in the previous sentence.

No seriously, this reads like a random rant than an actual article. What are we here to discuss again?

Sure. Now it's just regular fish. Next it will be sharks, then sharks with lasers. It will be all fun and games until someone loses an eye.
Lasers in space? Sounds like the plot of a movie.
Is that actor Ronald Regan still available?

He pounds the troll into the ground then sues them for damages, defamation and costs.
That will require an iron pickaxe and plenty of pork chops for energy, unless he wants to spend all year swinging his fists and barely making a dent.
He bought a ticket to the movie and propped the door open himself, then left and reentered from outside.

This line reminded me of plans to store radioactive waste in remote areas, keeping us safe from it for centuries.
Nobody seems to have a lot of faith in those plans I notice.
