this has been a huge waste of lives, money, and other resources.. and to be frank I don't take the word of any politician and surrounding propagandists... sure he's probably dead, but it's all bullcrap until the pudding is served.. rah rah jackass is dead, meanwhile people are jobless and the elite are laughing at the masses.
I just need a lawyer.. I just need a doctor.. No, you need a good, no great programmer to develop a great idea. Complete idiocy, do you have any clue how many crap programmers are out there? You get what you pay for.
It's not complicated. If you want to be treated fairly, then you have to play fair. Ripping off a game lock stock and barrel, you already failed the test regardless of the merits of the DMCA notice.
To become proficient, you have to work real projects and eliminate the fear of the unknown that pervades the IT industry. To be frank, there is enough knowledge out there, in easy to learn formats (head start, wrox, ms press etc) that if you are self motivated you can pretty much master different areas of study.
But when you are tasked to design/redesign/extend real systems, the best path is experience coupled with the over-abundant knowledge and resources that are out there ripe for the plucking. An entry level job coupled with a desire to learn will kickstart your career. Moreso, a degree from a reputable University.
If you are looking for shortcuts with these flim-flam on-line outfits, then you lack the fundamental desire to learn and succeed.. Take a loan, earn a scholarship, max out your credit card, flip burgers and put yourself through college. It really is the fastest track to gaining credibility and putting yourself ahead.
..of motivation. If nothing else, it shows a person who is willing to invest his time, energy, and money to educate himself. The best programmers I've worked with are the ones who take pride in their work, yet have the humility to let their work speak for them.
Just bank your experience, maybe have them just change your title to reflect your new role. The experience in your new role will pay off far more than a small raise now.
No duh, no need to emphasize something that I clearly meant to say. You took a lot of space to state the obvious, then clap yourself on the back. Here let me restate what you meant: "I'm an awesome programmer, you suck!" Typical insecure hack.
