  1. Japanese Technology in Music Searching on AI Bots Pick The Hits of Tomorrow · · Score: 1

I've seen a demonstration of what they call "Music Retrieval System Based on User Preferences" which is a music search engine and a retrieval system that can discover and suggest music based on a user's preferences. The project is still in its infant stages but surprisingly it works well on a collection of thousands of popular music CDs. The system currently also features "search by humming" concept, in which you simply sing ur hum your tune and the engine will retrieve the relative song for you. This is currently being developed by KDDI Corporation and will be integrated to next generation mobile services in Japan.

Why, the Internet was supposed to be a global community. I think we should not put geography as a point here, we are not talking about environmental issues. Spam "coming from the US" may be a symptom of something else wrong somewhere else that doesn't have anything to do with the country.

  22. My opinion as a new user of ... on OpenOffice.org Is 4 Today · · Score: 1

Writer: Excellent set of features, more than I would ever need to compile a report. However, the spellcheker (yeah my spelling sux) could use some speed. Whenever I right click on an underlined (misspelled) word, Writer kinda gets sluggish and hangs for a while. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

Calc: The same as Writer, tons of features, excellent set of tools. This is my new Excel.

Impress: I never used Power Point. I never had to prepare presentations for that matter. But this day, I am creating one small presentation and I find it as user friendly as a presentation software could get.

In case anyone is wondering, Open Office has everything you would need in an office suite. If Microsoft Office is stopping you from switching to Linux, then take a look again!
