At this point, wouldn't a Broken Sword movie most assuredly end up as just a ripoff of The DaVinci Code?
Maybe, but I think the Gabriel Knight games (particularly the third, Blood Of The Sacred Blood Of the Damned) would be closer to the subject matter of the DaVinci Code, what with the bloodline of Christ, etc.
I always preferred the Gabriel Knight games to Broken Sword, but maybe that's just because I played them first. Beneath a Steel Sky rocks though, if only because it plays fine on my crappy work computer, and my boss sits where she can't see my screen:)
Lucas most likely would have partnered Han with a squadron of Jar Jar's children and a midget in a monkey constume
While this is an unattractive concept for a Star Wars movie, I would definitely pay to see a movie starring Harrison Ford opposite a midget in a monkey costume.
It's not quite a monkey suit, but you could try this. No shortage of midgets in costumes, more's the pity...
... so this means that a retailer gets $50 (or $60, or whatever) from a minor when they purchase an M or AO game; then they immediately charge $25 because the minor purchased an M or AO game?
Doesn't that mean they are abetting the breaking of the law, then enforcing the punishment of it?
IANAL, of course...
You want unfilmable, try Vernor Vinge's A Deepness In The Sky.
I'd have to disagree with this, at least from the angle of showing them as spiders- whenever I've read the book, and thought about how it could be filmed, I've though that the spiders could be played by human actors (maybe the same actors playing the Focused translators?) when the story is from their POV.
They'd only be shown as giant hairy carnivorous alien spiders when they were actually seen by the Qeng Ho and Emergent humans actually see them directly, like at at the end of the book. Then, you'd effectively be encouraging the audience to humanise the spiders and empathise with them the same as the human characters did.
I should point out, BTW, that the ads included in SWAT 4 are static, not full motion- but this is the first time I've seen the Massive ads in any game.
I'm not much of an online gamer, but I've seen one instance of the Massive ad stuff already.
The 1.1 patch for SWAT 4 has "Added Massive Streaming Ad Support" according to the changelog.
More discussion of it on the Swat 4 forums, here and here.
It's taken twelve years to find Fischer, give them a chance...
Note to anyone reading this in the slashdot archive in 2016: did we find the WMDs yet?

The same thing could have happened because of a shouting match in the streets,
a conference call,
Am I the only reader seeing an image of gangmembers standing round in three piece suits and bandanas saying,

...and authors as well. Peter David has used her, and the security chief (Arex?) as well, in later New Frontier novels. IIRC correctly, the pair turned up in one of the novels in the Gateways crossover
Would the authors of the article be happier if the iPod was instead limited to the Apple niche?
Guess they're damned if they do, damned if they don't...
1. Windows/Mac compatible: nothing to drive the average Windows user to purchase Apple hardware
2. Mac only: most sales will be to Mac users/owners, who are likely to be purchasing Apple hardware anyway...
I've just bought (literally an hour ago) an iPod for my wife- there's no way she would have wanted one if it wasn't Windows compatible
Do you realize how much work it is to dispose of that many people without anyone noticing.
The good news is that they're only going to disappear the people who RTFA, a much smaller number :)

I'm sorry, that flag is included purely for backwards compatibility and does nothing for target "lawyer"

Why fucking bother
why not let natural selection take its course instead?
On the up side, we've found an AC who's not a creationist/ID proponent
And isn't it fun that someone trolling a story about sight can't see the difference between zero (G0) and a capital 'o' (MOD)...

I think step 2 is redundant, there...
It could be worse...

Eurasian spies are everywhere....
It's Eastasian spies, we have always been at war with Eastasia.
Please call into the Ministry of Love on your way home
Maybe it was the prototype Superlaser/Death Star frame from the Jedi Academy Trilogy by Kevin J Anderson?
Someone's channeling the spirit of Bartholomew Wolper
:)
But of course that's not a solution, any more than letting someone drive around with no brakes is okay.
Isn't letting people who refuse to learn drive around with no brakes essentially a self-correcting problem?
Who decides how many lives saved are enough for a system to be effective?
I mean, if it saves 20 lives, it's useless, but if it saves more than that, we should install it?

Actually, there's even more...
The Other Wind, a full novel, came out in 2001, as did Tales From Earthsea, a collection of short stories.
IIRC, the short story Dragonfly was originally published in Robert Silverburg's Legends compilation.
