I'll agree with you letting your cat run wild when it stops:
Digging up my garden that I spent all summer tending
Shitting in my garden and all over my yard
Chewing up my garbage and spreading it all over the place
Invading (trespassing on) my property
Leaving muddy footprints on my deck/car/sills that I have to clean
Trashing the nest of the beautiful doves that have settled in my pine tree
Pissing on everything it feels the need to mark
You cat owners feel like the rest of society should bend over backwards because you WANT to own a cat without abiding by society's written and unwritten rules.
I am imagining that since it not possible to "see" "through" an object, that these three images must be of various wavelengths (visible light, ultraviolet light, and infrared) and then are run through an interpolation process to get a probable image of what is behind the obstacle.
Am I out to lunch? Can anybody shed more light on how this works?
I just finished downloading an obscure cartoon "The fantastic adventures of unico.avi". It took almost three weeks, but it was not available ANYWHERE else (torrent links were busted as well). eDonkey reported only 3 sources, but over time, new sources popped on to give me critical bits of the file.
Now, I see that it is widley available and I think the eDonkey method of distributing files is to be credited for this. I personally leave my client running overnight just to repay those that helped me get that file.
I'm probably not making sense... overtired and sick. My point is: eDonkey is very good - patience can be very rewarding with this client.
This post could be an attack on the above post, or a defence. Why not find out for yourself?
I get particularly annoyed when I see heated discussions that involve nuances of law, when it is clear that most people talking don't have any CLUE about law. Here's a link to get you *inspired to search some more* before you keep discussing.
Hopefully this will inspire you all to search out the laws of your state/country and help keep the discussion based in fact. I am bowing out, because frankly, I don't want to enter into another ignorant/. debate about property and transmission law.
Be sure to check the laws that govern your country.
I believe that this will backfire massively for both MS and the RIAA members... Just like SafeDisc3 is backfiring for companies like Activision. I bought, NHL 2004, I bought PainKiller and I bought Doom 3, brand new. There they sat all shiny in their boxes, with that nice new-game smell.... while I sat and downloaded NO-CD cracks from gamecopyworld.com because my CD drive was not compatible with their protection scheme. I wrote a letter to Activision. I told them they will never see another penny of my money. Not another penny.
The whole point is that every time they add more protection, more paying customers get screwed... and those formerly paying customers start turning to cracked and pirated copies. Nice irony... and not the Alanis Morisette kind, the real kind.
Perhaps I respnonded a bit too harshly, but the 'terrorist' word that is thrown about so non-chalantly by north Americans actually hurts my loved one very much. It is akin to the negativity of the word 'nigger'. If you think using 'terrorist' as a joke is acceptable, then you need to think about the feelings of those that that remark targets.
Are you serious? When you leave your parent's basement one day and get out into the real world, you may eventually learn that people all over the world just want to lead a happy, fulfilling existence.
Your comment has shown that your mind operates at the highest level of ignorance and intolerance.
Shame on you.
When you hear the word smuggled, you think that the item smuggled is illegal itself. This is not the case with computer hardware in Iran. If hardware is smuggled into Iran, it is because it is difficult to find, but not because its illegal.
A year ago, I sent my Iranian fiance's mom and dad back to Iran with a suitcase that contained a complete desktop computer with Win98 minus the monitor. Upon arrival in Iran, their luggage (just like all luggage, mail and packages entering Iran) was opened and searched, and they were allowed to proceed.
I went to Montreal this weekend. On saturday, I decided to visit my favorite downtown arcade. It was closed - permanently. I commented to my girlfriend about how sad it made me feel to see another piece of my youth die... how I learned so much about life in the arcade. She laughed at me. I cried... Seriously.
Until PB works in a manner that is completely transparent to the user, it will remain a great technology that is poorly implemented. Why should anybody have to spend hours educating themself about the intricacies of PB to play online? Personally, I am tired of the constant warning messages that I receive even when I am playing Quake 3 offline. I should not have to configure this thing...
Wouldn't it be nice if all other game companies were as forthcoming with game dev info (hello 3DRealms)? As much as I dislike MS, It's nice to see a company just come out and say it. "This game is toast, just letting you know"
Who stands to benifit? (If passed into law)
Network TV won't
RIAA won't
Public won't
Hollywood won't
Etc...
So who will? The political forces that are pretending to support this outrageous and hokey cause?
Am I insane, or am I so sane I just blew your mind?

This certainly seems to be some very interesting material on the subject.
:p
Is anybody able to dumb-it-down by about 7 notches so I can understand it
Serously. I'm quite interested.
Much is left to the imagination in the article

You crazy Americans! Everybody knows we don't live in igloos! That's where we keep our sled dogs!

Call made from client. Code executed on server. Result sent back to client. End of piracy.
Wake up you silly people. Coming soon to an interWeb near you.
...forums packed with charged conversations such as:

"Jellllllloooooo"
"I like jellolololololololo"
No thanks.
