He's talking about corporate purchases; where the company buys off the shelf, simply re-buying "their standard configuration" each time another cubicle needs filling. These kinds of customers don't build their PC from bits, you fool!

    Ok then....

And they DO worry about tiny differences in price; because they get multiplied out by the hundreds of boxes getting bought by the whole company.

    - But you just said they want to save money? Surely building them from bits would save $$$. I know it does at my university, they hire students each summer to build 10,000 or so computers for them.

Why not have the GAME ask for a code on your card (or read it via some reader). It could then do something funky, or go online (xbox and ps2 can already) and check if your old enough to try the game your trying to play.

Ok, you COULD hack it, copy cards etc, but this would be along the same lines as copying passports, and not many 12yr olds want to go to THAT limit of breaking the law, just to play a game. Add in some finger print reconision (should exist pretty securly by then too) and you have a full prove system

means also that shop owners no longer get blamed for selling a game to person x, who passed to on to person y, who happened to be 12.

Im guessing a mature game can still be sold to anyone, so do you have any age limits on the games at all?

Tbh no one under.... 18 should be playing games like manhunt, and simular things.
In the uk our 18 rating is LAW and when selling, the seller should check id of who evers buying the game, sadly however, this never seems to work.

We have had a spite of killings by kids supposidly doing "what they saw in the game" however, i and most people belive this is just an excuse.

However, it does make rise to the question of how a 15yr old was playing a 18 rated game.

    its true though,

lately me and my dad have been researching this thing they are calling Freeview, basicly you buy this box and you get extra channels no cost.

After much much digging we finally found the flaw, 99% of the boxes you find are all actually Sky boxes, its the sky design, just with a different packaging. Now, normally when people use these boxes they connect them to their terrestial aerial, or even their cable, and these boxes decode the signals.

This is all fine and dandy unless one of two things happen:
    1. You use a satalite dish
    2. You can't recive sky in your area.

We are in the middle of the UK and our whole city (pretty much anyway) can't recive freeview, yet they still sell these boxes in the shops =/. I digress, my point is my dad and i set out looking for a box which wasn't SKY. It seems this is a almost impossible task, only ones we could find were on some shady looking sites on the web.

Also if your using a stupid sky box, it will ONLY decode signals from sky and that includes the sky satatlite. Currently they are working on a different bandwidth or something such as this, and it will mean that everyone with a sky box will also be UNABLE to use it for this!. And we say M$ have a monopoly?

The most heartbreaking part was when two "rival" teams would be fighting, and then one robot would have some kind of malfunction, and then the teams would give each other help to fix the bots, because they would rather win a fair battle (or lose) than they would just win and take the prize.
