Start by blocking the internet porn, for the kids of course.
A few years pass.
Then block anything that could be deemed hate speech or offensive. Again for the kids. Govt bonus: have FBI/CIA/NSA secretly setup proxies and track people who use them to bypass the block.
A few years pass.
Next block anything from countries that might be unfriendly towards us, national security, nothing to see here move along. Govt bonus: have FBI/CIA/NSA secretly setup proxies and track people who use them to bypass the block.
A few years pass.
Start making it harder to opt in for porn, maybe even make users pay for access or a data plan that allows porn. Govt bonus: big list of people who want porn.
Maybe it's just me but my first thought was this sounds like some parents didn't want to have to supervise their kids while the kids used the chem set. Rather than suck it up and supervise them or not buy it in the first place they complain until it gets changed.
Not really, the US military wiped the Iraq military off the map easily, it was the occupation and insurgency that caused problems. I bet Egypt, Syria and Jordan thought they'd do just fine too when they attacked Israel.

"The investigation stems from separate encounters Assange had with two women during his August visit to Sweden, where he was applying for Swedish residency and attempting to secure the protection of Swedish free-press laws for his secret-spilling website. According to local news reports, the women told investigators the sexual encounters began as consensual, but turned non-consensual. One woman said Assange ignored her appeals to stop when the condom broke."
I agree, my only hope is that by using a hugely popular open source browser (firefox) that hundreds of people much smarter than me have poked around inside it to make sure it isn't laced with malware and if something is found it's fixed/posted on popular sites or whatever to warn others. Addons however are more risky since not all addons are used/inspected by everyone obviously.
Good for the teachers, it's their classroom so if they don't want computers it's their call and it's not like they don't tell the students on the first day of class what their policies are either verbally or in the syllabus. You don't like their rules drop the class and add a new one.
Or do what one of my profs did and make all laptop users sit in the front row so when she's wandering around lecturing it's easy for her to see what the students are up to.

Huh? I hope you were being sarcastic. From TFA.
"The amendment to halt the plane's production was co-sponsored by Sens. Carl Levin, D-Mich., and John McCain, R-Ariz. McCain, who has never been an F-22 fan, went so far as to quote at some length President Dwight Eisenhower's farewell address, which warned of the "military-industrial complex," though McCain noted that the proper phrase should be the "military-industrial-congressional complex.""
Anyway, thanks for playing, come again.
"The devices uses off-the-shelf components and easily swappable parts to be cost-effective."
Ddunno about you guys but the gov't\cia being involved in something that is easy and cost afective sounds too good to be true.
I'm not going to read all the coments to see if someone has already said this.
Yes MS OSs have issues with viruses and other security holes but if the MAC OS or *nix was the huge commonly used OS it would have the same problems so please get of the MS bashing bandwagon. Disagree all you want but you either know deep down inside it's true or you're too ignorant/cocky/stuborn to admit that your favorite OS isn't perfect.
Everyone knows it would be a waste of time to write a worm/virus for such a small number of computers.
I'm happy with my comcast cable connection. The speed is good and it's only gone down once in the past year and that was at 2am when i was just browsing the web so it wasn't that big a deal. The only encounter with tech support was when my fiancee broke the modem when the coax got caught on something and it snapped the jack off the modem. I called, wasn't on hold for long, and told them the modem was broken and needed to be replaced. The tech had someone come out with a new modem asap which left me without internet for only about 1.5 days. He even hooked it up to my router for me, which he didn't need to do.
ps i'm in Roseville Ca
yea but the tuscan is a badass car that can hold it's own against the ferrari 360, this is a volvo that will be owned by soccer moms
the tvr has a good reason for having it's hood bolted closed, what's volvo's excuse?
unbolting the hood > having to have some volvo tech open it
looks like shark week has jumped the shark
Easy for you to say, you're not the one sitting in a cell for the next 11.5-35 years of your life.

Left hand meet right hand.
i'm sure they wont turn the camera on unless you report the car stolen or the govt subpoenas video evidence of something.

I bet the decline in music downloads is due to crappy quality of new music that isn't even worth pirating.

Anytime you want, just make sure you have the RIAA's and MPAA's lawyers backing you up.

No, they meant pirate music. "Pirate music sounds atrocious." Have you ever heard pirates sing? It's not good.
i for one look forward to someone stealing my bank login or account info from my phone when i forget to turn off bluetooth and/or my wifi connection.

Humans are animals. We're just a little bit smarter and better at making and using tools than most other animals.
