Last I heard the sky on mars is not blue and we can't tell if the water is wet because OUR MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR ROVER that was looking for it got STUCK IN THE SAND.
Microsoft has already ruined themselves.
Sony raised the stakes years ago by pretty much requiring that all consoles be backwards compatible.
Nintendo finally learned this. Microsoft's gaming devision is still too young to "get it", and the lack of Xbox compatibility in the 360 will be it's own undoing, Xbox Live or no Xbox Live.
Show me an actual article that says the XBox 360 is not or is going to be backwards compatible. Because all i've seen is speculation articles. Until I see someone produce a press release that even mentions backwards compatability or lack there of, your speculation holds exactly zero weight. However, since we're plaing the speculation game...two years ago microsoft happened to purchase a little known company called Connectix. Known for such products virtual game station, which allowed Playstation games to run unmodified on a mac or a pc. Sony later bought acquired it from connectix to do away with it after losing several court battles. However, they're more well known product, Virtual PC for the mac, (later released on the PC) does exactly what microsoft needs to to do. It allows x86 code (Namely Windows or possibly x86 Linux) to run on a PPC system. Also, apparently the Xbox and Virtual PC teams have done some work together. So let's recap, Microsoft aqcuired the Connectix team that has not only suceeded in running Windows on a PPC system, but also the Sony Playstation at better than native speeds, supporting nearly every game released for it. In my honest opinion, if anyone can pull this feat off, it's the team from Connectix.
Oh come on! I mean really, if you think there are no good original movies beings released lately then i suggest you look a little harder. Of course over-marketed movies are all similar. They follow proven formulas that are supposed to succeed. They're the cash cow that allow production companies to take a chance on more original films. If you feel Hollywood is running out of ideas then why not look at something from the independant distribution brands like Lion's Gate or Sony Pictures Classics.
You know the transmission has to decyphered eventually if it's to be of any use to anyone. If someone eventually has to put the signal back in it's proper form then yes, yes it can be hacked. IF it can't be then the technology is completely useless in the first place.
You could therefore say that the telephone was an obvious extension of the telegraph or the cellphone was the natural extension of the LAN line phone yet these technologies were given patents and I don't remeber any uproar about them being given patents.
NASA predicts an increasing chance of utter doom or at least an increasing chance of some rock chunk hitting some guy in Idaho's corn field(Yes I know they never said anything about it hitting Idaho) and then five hours later takes it back? Jeez! You know these modern day doom predictors are no fun anymore! At least when Nostradamus was wrong he still stood by the predictions until nothing happened! I mean what happened to swelling of hope?
Woah there! Let's not forget the entire Escape Velocity series(EV, EV: Override & EV: Nova). BEST SHAREWARE EVER! By the way the tank game I beleive is called Spectre.
But this isn't just covering Windows Liscenses, It also mentions they're getting exchange 2003 and office 2003 plus they're probably getting quite a nice support package from MS. A copy of windows and office alone is more than $500 in store in Canada which has relatively the same dollar value as the Australian Dollar right now. Make No mistake, they definately got a discount.
Something tells me you're from Alberta.

You do realized the XBox 360 uses PPC technology, donh't you? I don't think there's a shread of Intel technology in there, correct me if I'm wrong.

Leave out the last X, it makes you seem like a pretentious asshole.
Yeah, but that is for the GNU Free Wedding License (which you can, of course, also get completely free if you find the right place).
Oh you all think it's free, till you discover that under the GFWL you need to share your wife with anyone who requests it.
so I would tell them to fsck off What good would turning off filesystem checking do?
That's the name of a mexican lizard. You know eats all the goats.

And mysteriously my TiVo no longer skips those retina burning iPod commercials
Wow! And you managed to do it all without a ???????? stage
...does it run World of Warcraft at acceptable speeds?

I personally blame Alberta, they're like the Texas of Canada
That is if downloading music is actually considered illegal. Because currently in certain countries, ie: Canada, downloading music is currently legal.
I prefer to think of it as America Right.
>>Aren't you forgetting about that little skirmish called World War II in which the Americans liberated Spain?
Aren't you forgetting that little skirmish called the Spanish Civil War which kept Spain out of that little skirmish called World War II?

Nothing really I just find mozilla tabs to be quite an innovation, not to mention a timesaver.
Don't EVER underestimate the innovation of mozilla tabs.
