Apple isn't just trying to lock you in to their proprietary formats, they control a large percentage of how the US communicates and are all too willing to work at the edge of censorship without question *
"Apple has patented a piece of technology which would allow government and police to block transmission of information, including video and photographs, from any public gathering"
I can remember a time, back in the late 70s, when the NRA took out full-page ads in Field & Stream and Outdoor Life. I don't remember the exact wording, but they seemed like a reasonable organization and advocate for responsible gun ownership. These days, it seems like the NRA is just a mouthpiece for off-kilter political wack-jobs. I can scarcely glass over any of their "publications" without hearing Ted Nugent reading it in my mind.
Many of the people using Tor in restrictive countries won't have the luxury of switching away from Windows. Even if they don, they won't necessarily know how.
You know, if Linux still installed from 30 floppies or needed Loadlin, I would agree but installing Ubuntu takes like 11 freakin mouse clicks now. Anyone concerned with security, and still using Windows, is either a helpless victim of Lock-in, or just too damn change-resistant for their own good.
Windows is actually one of the better operating systems security wise these days.
No, actually it's not. Historically and subjectively, each release of Windows has been prone to the same old problems as the previous releases. Internet Explorer/ Active-X/ Application specific exploits both on removable media or over the network. We won't even start with the Abysmal practice of Domain Admin passwords stored on laptops Still using stupid hashing algorithms
bring on the irrational arguments and Microsoft hate.
Not trying to be irrational or hateful -- it's all fact dude. Open your eyes.
Most people won't really care/comprehend much past the drama generated around the whole thing. In the US, Reality TV wins, everything else is lucky if it gets a confused, apathetic nod. If it's more work than walking to the checkout line at a Walmart, people just won't do it.
because they get to eat 'meat' once more without killing animals.
Hahaa... I don't think you know very many vegetarians.
They become so accustomed to replacing the "meat" proteins with beans and grains (quinoa) that eating meat becomes a troubling concept, grown ethically/sustainably or not. The "PETA" vegetarians will find something wrong with whatever you try and serve them so let's not even go there.

someone who slacks of 7 hours of the day and gets a monumental amount done in the 60 minutes
Depends. If, for those 7 hours, slacker is unable to attend meetings, unavailable at their desk, or holding up projects due to a problem work ethic, then no. They should just stay home.
"There may be a time where it would be constructive to try and meet and... resolve this in a way that honors due process and the highest principles of fairness and civilization,"
Seems resolved to me. What remains to be sorted out:
* who is accountable for all of the laws broken by the NSA
* what programs they still have in place which are illegal
* when these illegal programs will be terminated
Let's not forget, if the NSA/US had followed the letter of the law, Snowden's claims would have been pointless.
Exactly. Purely anecdotal which, when corroborated with other anecdotal evidence, still says Windows 8 sucks, Windows 7 is "meh" and XP is what everyone is still wanting to run.
You can pay for as many "Independent 3rd party studies" as you want. I'll take random anecdotal samples over that anyday.

Snowden better get his shit straight soon. He's not going to be able to reach anything but fuzzy kitten websites within a couple weeks and even then... one bad translation of "Pussy" and there goes lolcats.
So why is it claimed that Apple that is mistreating workers?
Stop it. Do you really think Apple is invested in ensuring the quality of life of the people? Besides, they made the commitment FTFA: "Apple is committed to providing safe and fair working conditions throughout our supply chain. "
If Apple was serious about getting these conditions improved, they would be proactive about, not reactive. They only do something about it when they get bad press about it and then they basically hire a 3rd party to say "Oh, everything is OK. It's just a handful of troublemakers jumping off the building to make Apple look bad"
Also, understand Microsoft and Dell were implicated in TFA as well. It's business as usual in the US and abroad -- US companies in general give no more f-cks about Chinese workers as they did about american workers when they made a mass exodus offshore to exploit all the cheap labor and lax environmental standards.
It's also possible that he was happily retired and really didn't like Apple all that much but decided he'd come back for a while to help out an old friend. Or... He was getting kind of bored in retirement and it sounded like a fun way to spend some free time but then he realized he had forgotten how much corporate drama bullshit there was at Apple and now he's changed his mind. Or... Samsung wants him to come to work for them in Korea and this conflicts with Timmy boy's vision.
Just sayin.. As long as we're postulating... that road goes both ways. It's exciting how projection works, eh?

It's difficult to take TFA with much seriousness. Laughably, the antenna are a nice touch.

Since your running a router on the internet you know this would be a huge problem.

Glad the truth finally came out in an independent investigation.
When does the US military go on trial for the exposed war crimes?
Lotsa bacon.
Tune in to KTVU San Francisco. I bet they have the names of the flight crew. Probably the same guys.
