I am boycotting Intel products, as they are the inventors of this evil we call HDCP.
My friend has had lots of issues with HDCP, it could be a Slashdot story on it's own the trouble hes been through. I can't say much as it is about to go through tribunal hearings. Lets just say it hurts people that buy legal content and hardware, and it won't affect people that really want to pirate. Talk about a waste of f'n time.
The price for a new game, as far as I can remember, has always been around NZD$100 (~USD$80). I remember some top title games for the Master System II like Sonic the Hedgehog were around $120. It surprises me with inflation, and the production cost of games going through the roof, that the price of games hasn't gone up a lot.
Bravo, that is pretty much how most people outside (and maybe/hopefully inside?) the US see the situation. BTW, I think that North Korea has missiles that can reach the US, may need a grain of salt with that article tho.
This phone is still available (but rare) in NZ. Fantastic phone, with fantastic battery life, and it was extremely cheap. I am surprised simple phones are so hard to find now, when there is clearly a high demand for them.
MS Office is the 'no brainer', don't have to put up a struggle in any way option. That is why corporations use it. The question is, how do we make OO the 'no brainer' option?
I personally think getting it into more schools is the best way to start. Make people comfortable with it, and then they will demand it in the workplace as they get older.
I honestly don't see the appeal of an XBox 360. Yes, I have played one, I hired one out. Yes Gears of War was fun, at least it was until the machine broke down and started saying "Please insert this disk into an XBox 360"... I shit you not.
How much is it for a HD-DVD player AND a basic XBox 360 in the US at the moment?
A quick check on Amazon, the XBox 360 is $399.99 and a HD-DVD player is $199.99, that totals to $600. This IMHO makes the PS3 cheaper than the 360 now.
I am not sure where you US peoples normally buy consoles and what the standard price is, so my logic could be flawed:)
I now use Pidgin on Windows and haven't looked back, it is a vast improvement over Gaim. I will install on my home Ubuntu once it comes off of beta, and is easily apt-get'able. For the benefit of those that don't know, Pidgin is the new version of Gaim under a new name.
"D-pad on the left, buttons on the right" - Just like my 3rd party Atari 2600 controller:).
I do get sick of the "Nintendo is so innovative" fan boy hype, people seem to easily forget all of the different controls Sony has brought out, for instance: Sing Star, Guitar Hero and Eye toy. Don't get me wrong I don't like Sony as a company but that doesn't mean there console sucks. Oh how glorius it would be if Atari or even Sega got back into the console market:).
I have been thinking more and more lately that Linux is going to really stake it in the home desktop market. Here are some reasons why:
Ubuntu and the like are getting more and more simple to use for the average ma and pa. They are not there yet, but they are progressing in leaps and bounds.
There has been so much negative press about Vista, some people rather than upgrade will jump ship to another OS. I am one of those.
Cool interfaces for Linux. Sounds cheesy, but it sells OS's. Just look at XGL, it's soo purdy:).
The masses of people moving away from windows games to console games
I know it has been said many times before that Gnu-Linux will take over the desktop market, but I really feel it may well happen in the masses, and maybe within 5 years.
It depends on your definition tho, the recording industry puts a lot of music out that they call Heavy Metal. It is quite easy for the avid Heavy Metal listener to filter out that crud.
In other words, what they call Heavy Metal just ain't Heavy Metal:). Just look at Strapping Young Lad, those ugly old bastards are a PR/records label nightmare!
The kill switch is on the back of the robot. You have to sneak up behind it quietly to turn it off.

Drum roll please... Did the open up the 350MHz spectrum?
Why, what big, ummm, eyes you have...

WOW!

I just find this funny as the electric car companies of yesteryear used to say the same thing about petrol cars :).
"...but in practice most don't use it." - if that is the case then the drop of the Emotion engine and lowering of the price is definitely a good move.
The XBox 360 uses software emulation that does NOT support all XBox games.
The XBox 360 also seems to break alot

For those as lazy as me, the screenshots can be found here. The website navigation is unfortunately not overly intuitive.
Fedora 7 does look very polished tho - at first glance anyway. I might give it a go this weekend :).
I think some of it has to do with domain names. It's a lot easier/cheaper finding a domain name www.[enter riduculous name here].com.

.Make of it what you will:
New OS's more expensive versions doing better, selling faster than XP.

My sentiments exactly. Also, often illness such as chronic fatigue can cause depression AND poor memory all round, not just spatial.
Not yet anyway... pays not to give them such ideas! :)
Seems like another good reason to install SETI on my girlfriends laptop. What a great idea, 1up for the geeks :).
p.s. yes I do have a girlfriend before the geek/no girlfriend jokes come out...
bring on the 3 breasted women pr0n...
