    And then imagine the same 20 teenagers lying dead ridden with bullet holes and their laptops burning together with their houses.

    I hate to say this but until there is political stability in those regions it is quite a moot point what you are saying.

    Not if it's a properly configured MacBook laptop. If you set a firmware password then they can't simply wipe & re-install. That, combined with a product like Undercover [www.orbicule] from Orbicule can make recovery of a stolen MacBook much more likely.


    Firmware password can be reset easily.

    You might want to check the dates on those. The DS predates the Macbook by atleast a year.


    The iBook G4 predates the DS by YEARS.

    And take, for example, the MBP. It already has C2D, iSight, DVD+R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW, 802.11n, FW800, magsafe, express-card, multi-touch trackpads... just what new technology is it missing that, if added, would be an "upgrade"?


    For its price, a good quality decent high resolution screen.

    What kind of argument is that? Is not "design! shiny!" a tangible reason?

    By your kind of logic you can also explain to us why a Ferrari costs 1000x more expensive than a regular car apart reasons like "design!" and "faster engines!"

    So what if it is faster, the engines are made of the same metal, who cares what amount of intellectual property and engineering has gone into it. It is free right? You are only paying for the materials. Yeah right.
