...and save for those few people who really need high speed access in rural areas (I suspect there aren't a lot of people there that can't survive off of dialup), there really is no market for their product/service.

I wouldn't be so sure. There is a BIG demand for broadband access in rural areas. When I worked tech support for a major Canadian ISP, we recieved a *LOT* of calls from rural people wondering when and if broadband would be available in their area.

In fact, one could argue that there may be a bigger need for broadband in rural areas than in cities. When I've lived in the country I relied on the net to read the newspaper, because by the time the paper reached the town I was in, it was a day old. That kind of issue isn't something you have to deal with in a major urban centre. If I want to read todays new york times, I can go to a shop and find it, even though I live in Canada. If I lived in the middle of nowhere, I'd need the net.

Of course there is still dialup, but I find that for a lot of people, the big draw of broadband is not necessarily the speed increase but the fact that it doesn't tie up the phone.

    I'll stop ranting now.

If you don't like it, change it. A real grassroots effort by the dissaffected in society could change things for the better. Instead people whine and forget that a democracy entails responsibilities, not just rights.

There was no standardized spelling in Middle English. Different spellings of the same word in the same text are actually very common in writings of this era. Part of it has to do with spacing - a word would be spelled differently so that it would fit into a line better. Pronunciation and vocabulary were not fully standardized in this era either, causing a lot of problems.

Yes they did. It was actually a pretty good game, but didn't have enough of the classic SFII characters to keep me interested. I muched preferred Street Fighter Alpha III, which I still play regularly with MAME. SFAIII included not just Ken and Ryu, but many of the characters from SFII (including Chun-li, Blanka, E Honda, Zangief, Dhalsim, Vega, MBison, and more), while still having newer characters.

SFIII just didn't seem accessible to a casual arcade fan like myself, when I had no clue how to use 9/10s of the characters.

In addition, female big-cat hybrids, like "Ligers" and "Tigons" or "Jaguleps", etc, are often fertile, and can be impregnated to produce 3-species hybrids (Do a google search for "Lijagulep" or "Ti-liger"...to lazy to do it myself). So maybe the criteria should be that species are seperate if they can't produce fertile *MALE* offspring....
