Their chilly demeanor when asked about a Linux port was probably due to the way Linux zealots tend to treat software devs. Hint: if you want something made for your platform, DON'T TREAT THE PEOPLE WHO WILL MAKE IT POORLY!!! Insulting, threatening, annoying behaviour will not prove the superiority of your OS of choice! YOU chose Linux, knowing there is little commercial development for it! YOU know games are mostly commercial products! YOU therefor KNEW there are not many professionally developed games for Linux! SO QUIT WHINING! If you want games, here's a hint: GET AN OS THAT GAME PUBLISHERS ACTUALLY SUPPORT!!!!
once again, your idiocy runs rampant. Anybody buying a copy of Mac OS X with the intent of running it on anything other than a Mac is obviously and idiot. The software is designed only to run on Apple hardware, which is designed only to run software written specifically for that platform. It is just as dumb as saying Ford is evil because the fuel pump for an F-150 truck won't work in a Datsun B210 station wagon. If your head was any further up your nether regions, you'd simply implode. So, do us all a favor and get that much dumber, so we won't have to read any more of your crap!
I am probaably not the only one who feels this way, but, having read your posts on various topics, I don't think you are nearly close enough to reality to make any decisions, and, in fact, I think whoever has power of attorney over your pathetic existence should prevent you from posting here ever again. P.S. Nice tinfoil hat. The fact that is is shaped like an ass is most impressive.
There never was any support for the Indigo Gamecube. Even on launch day, everybody wanted the Black ones! The store I worked for at the time had Indigo cubes sitting unsold all the time, but the black ones sold the day they arrived, everytime!
Gee, let me get this straight. WMA is evil because of DRM when there's any other topic being discussed, but iPods are evil because they don't play WMA in other discussions? At the very least, get your dogma straight before you make a jackass of yourself with your zealotry next time.
In all these discussions it seems the issue of having to build a completely different video output system (PAL) for a relatively small market is probably one of the issues that end up making European consoles cost more. I don't recall anybody posting an acknowledgement of that in any thread complaining about the price gaps.
I can't speak for the GP, but I did not like Zelda 64 due to the interface and graphics. The blurry textures really bothered me, giving me a migraine after about 30 minutes, and the auto-jumping in the control scheme pulled me right out of the game. If I control the character, I should control EVERY movment. I felt it made the game artificial-feeling.
It seemed like the designers were saying "We think you can solve the puzzles, but we don't think you can handle jumping from one ledge to the other." To be honest, I preferred Shadow Man for a similar type of experience, but more immersive. The dark and disturbing tone is not the reason, the control over the character and the possibilities for environmental interaction were just better. FYI - I played the Dreamcast version, the N64 version had the same issues with blurry graphics as Zelda, which was a 64 hallmark, and the draw distance was too short to see what was going on.
This is hardly the first time that Nintendo have seriously delayed a flagship game. They should just do what iD does and announce the release dates for all their games as "When it's done" and save the fanboys from going into conniptions annually when their one good game gets pushed back six months.
If that's your plan, do the world a favour and don't have kids. The older you are when you have your first child, the greater the odds that you will have a lousy relationship with them, and the greater the odds you will be too worn out to enforce discipline or say "No". The most fucked up people I have known in my life, including my first wife, all had fathers who were over 40 and mothers over 30 when they were born. Their behaviours ranged from selfish pettiness all the way to a complete lack of any moral compass. We don't need more like them running around.
Great post, other than your egregious misuse of the word 'moniker'. That word means name. The name of Reese's peanut butter cups has always been Reese's peanut butter cups, and that was their advertising tagline.
Or, as we did at the last store I worked at when idiots tried this sort of thing, they can tell you to stop wasting their time with your crap, give you the phone number for head office's legal department, and tell you to discuss the legality of their policies with a real lawyer. The they will mock you for weeks to come, and tell storie of what an ass you are to other customers, even pointing you out as you walk past the store.
If you're so fucking paranoid, why do you not just post everything AC? We can get all your information from your Slashdot ID just as easily, you tinfoil hat-wearing paranoid fuck!
From my own experiences in retail management and sales, I don't think it would make a difference. Most people who buy the wrong item for their needs will return it to the store it came from with some bullshit excuse, then go to another store entirely to buy the right thing, to avoid the embarrasment of admitting they bought the wrong thing in the first place. Happens all the time in electronics.
Oddly enough, during my stints as a salesman, I have done exactly this, many times. The weird part is, it often resulted in the customer coming back to me for other things because I was honest with them. The real fun would be the times when they didn't buy a piece of crap P.C., with no margin whatsoever, bought a different one elsewhere, and came back to me for all the high-margin accessories. My boss actually encouraged my approach, as we were more profitable, and actually moved more high-end stuff by coming right out and telling the customer when what they were looking at was not worth it. Not to mention, we had a lot fewer pissed-off people returning the junk.
Hmm. Let's see. Animal Crossing was a remake of a Japan-only N64 title, Same deal for Custom Robo. Donkey Konga was simply Namco tweaking Taiko no Tatsujin to include a Nintendo franchise, same for Jungle Beat. Eternal Darkness was created by Silicon Knights, the real creators of the Legacy of Kain series. Geist, as you admit isn't out yet, and has been previewed for three years now, so it might never arrive. And, please, Luigi's Mansion? How is that not another Mario series game?
A logo that became sadly prophetic, as SEGA was going into a downward spiral as they released the Dreamcast. A machine which I dearly love, in case you think I'm trolling.

And the open source community wonders why it has an image problem....

Hey, don't be ashamed to use a Juicebox that you stole from your 5-year-old sister. Your Mommy still loves you.
Hook me up, if you would be so kind!
Next time try linking to a site written in English.

Actually, Office originated on the mac platform, which is still a nicer package than the Windos version.

Who the fuck is Ethan?
New improved Linux - With HAT!!!!!
Heh, you said Hummer Winblad.

I don't know about that, Dr. Mario has you killing viruses.
