    Is that what is required now? It's a compilation of the features, you know the things you can do and not in real time. I know this, when I am looking at any advert. Now if they did this test and were showing the iphone against say the blackberry storm and they abridged apples tests to make them look better that is something completely different. Course maybe we have to look at making all adverts for a max IQ of 80, then we can't hardly be accused of taking advantage.

    OMG you sound like the guy that sold my parents there first computer. 40mb is all the hard drive an average user will ever need in their lifetime. Cmon faster is always better, there are always little operations that when you first use the OS seem only slightly irritating but a year later and the thing is down right obnoxious. My laptop seems snappy right now but in 2 years what was snappy will be, omg I have to have a new laptop, I can't even do my job with this piece of crap. Ship this sucker to the Chinese onion fields.

    This makes for an interesting ddos attack against a company's real phone number. Same thing as an spoofing the IP but instead you spoof there number, they get all the bad press and all the hate calls . They are so busy with those calls that the secretaries are missing the real calls or at least being ignorant to them as well.

    Honestly though that is what I would want from the thief, as long as I know he isn't trying to hack my system. Granted getting the laptop back is a priority but barring that having it go nucular (sic) is the next best thing.

    Pretty easy to script this, its been done and done. Well on the mac laptops anyway since they come with a cam built in. See this process: http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20080824185920426&query=laptop%2Bstolen Course it could be used unscrupulously as well, but if your in charge of the server and the machine, its as secure as you are. I use it, though I modified mine to do a little more, what not.

    I am an apple fan and enjoy a lot of their products.

    There is no way any system can be perfectly secure, but this is a significant hole. While they probably won't get me to click that stupid link, they might get my mom or any number of the other avg everyday users.

    At least now we can get beyond the macs can't be hacked BS and move on to securing my favorite OS and keeping it that way.

    Now lets see how long it takes for apple to post a patch, that is really where the rubber meets the road.

    I really want to know what I can do to help and how I can get involved. I would love to see a thread on how regular people can help. Obviously I can only hope I get selected for jury duty in a pertinent case but doubt that its going to happen. We are very frustrated and I would love to see that after they win this battle, they lose the war(figuratively).

    I am not sure why they can't provide both, Free to those that don't mind commercials and pay for through itunes and all the other services for folks that don't want commercials. This sounds more like NBC is being a control freak. I hate the idea of having to go to each of the providers(CBS,NBC, WB,HBO,SHOWTIME) to get my content, its nice having a single point like itunes, walmart or the like).

    Sometimes I just hate the internet!

    I wonder how many of the dinosaurs sat around debating about climate change? Is it getting cooler, should we build comet buster bombs etc? Shouldn't they have done something? I think we could certainly learn a lesson from history here. Don't do what the dinosaurs did, act now, act swiftly, save our way of life, stop the earth from doing the things it does to make things uncomfortable for us. Sometimes I almost think this planet is mad at us and it's not just some random rock twirling through space!
