... Why would they hold back on the patch? If they have it available and ready to push out, why not just do it? I don't understand, its as if this is their way of raising their right hand and flipping everyone off.
Just installed IE 7, then immediately installed the new Google Toolbar 4 beta. It installs, but by default its 'hidden'. You have to go to Tools->Toolbars and check off 'Google' for it to appear. Thought I would give it a try, hoping it would improve the appearance of IE 7's rather disappointing UI.
If Microsoft is trying to gain the focus of the IT industry today (ie. slashdot readers) they are too late. Google seems to be on top. Instead of IE 7, maybe MS should announce the open beta of a new Linux distro. Possibly called Lista?
Google is taking over. They are an innovative company that's the size of Microsoft with the brilliance of Apple. Just think about it, they're dipping their hands in to everything: email, maps, advertising, media, etc. There's no stopping them. Not that I'm complaining or anything, Google's services are a part of my everyday life and I don't see that changing anytime in the near future.
"When Windows first shipped, 20 years ago this month, it was considered nothing more than a slow operating environment that had arrived late to the party, well behind the industry leaders..."
And how is that any different from today? Lets see, XP == slow operating enviornment. Vista == Arriving years after its competition with less features. Yeah, great job Micro$oft, keep up the good work.
I like how when you zoom in all the way you see CHEESE! I always knew the moon was made of cheese, and now Google, with the help of NASA has proved this theory. w00t!
Thank you for clarifying and further educating my knowledge of cable modems and bandwidth! Thats very interesting.
Don't cable companies do the same thing? A cable modems bandwidth is shared with their TV broadcasting, and it doesn't seem to effect internet use.
What's next? People gonna start suing McDonalds for burning themselves with hot coffee? Geese, what's this world coming to.
is the ugly-ass user interface just a bug as well? Lord I hope so!

Google must have some massive plan to organize the world's porn for faster and more efficient searching. I, for one, look forward to pr0n.google.com!
Sounds like something MS should implement into Vista. It sure wouldn't make it any worse!

"Closest idea to a perfect O/S yet!!" I want what he's smoking...
"...when you do that, other things break." Sure sounds like Windows to me.
HAHA... wrong thread.. *ducks*

THANK THE GOOD LORD!
Agreed, I wonder how many RSOD's this will bring on.
"I played around with it a bit, but it's just another browser, and IE [Microsoft's Internet Explorer] is better,"
What makes it so much better? I've been using Firefox for a while now and it seems like more then 'just another browser' to me.
so this is going to sky-rocket just like the nGage did?
..they could do it in under 2.
