That's perhaps part of it, but the main reason is that TPB is still the best place to get new stuff. I always download all new TV-series there, except netflix-series that I can get on... netflix.

As for games, I recently wanted to buy a few games on stream, but they demanded a copy of my id because my card was issued in another country than the one I live in at the moment. Fine, goodbye. Downloaded the games at TPB instead.

It should not only be possible but also convenient to buy media. Netflix and GOG are great and get my money, other places that are less great and makes it difficult can keep their digital copies while I go browsing at the Pirate Bay.

It doesn't matter if it's a good machine or not, or if you have fond childhood memories of it or not. If you happen to have something that can be explored and programmed, and you feel like doing it, great. No, it is not. I know it's difficult to get a grip on all the -isms, and there has been a lot of different interpretations since the late 19th century, but there Is No State in a communist society. The only examples of communist societies in modern times were, kind of, the Paris commune and possibly, again kind of, Soviet Russia during the civil war.

Chrusjtjov claimed that the Soviet Union would become communist some time in the (then) near future, he was obviously wrong. No Communist party in the world has communism in their party program except as a final goal sometime far in the future, when the state is no longer needed.

Again, this is not Risk. Please go to the library and look up the concept of Imperialism, it does in no way have to involve annexing territories - controlling countries through puppet governments (Iraq, for example) is how it's done since at least the 18th century.

    What?

That might be how it works in some... countries, but in a civilized society (Germany?) it's not enough with random requests or notifications to shut down something even if it's "obvious", without a court order. The registrar (and the webhost) is not a court of law. If they passed it on to the owner of the site, and the owner of that site for whatever reason didn't agree and didn't remove the material, then it should be decided by a court.

This case might be black and white (no idea, never visited h33t.com), but most cases are not, and it's therefore not up to the registrar or the host to shut down anything.

I work for a large European webhost, every time I get some shutdown request or ridicolous DMCA-blaha from someone in a country ruled by copyright holders, I just tell them stop bothering us and report the actual owner of the site to the police (in whatever country the siteowner lives in), if it's really copyright infringement.
