Create a social network for those who never could learn to play the guitar, were your ex-customers of Guitar Hero and have them "social media" themselves... You could call it Guitar Loser.

I have a genuine question. Assuming one uses Twitter from the phone, how does one prevent the Twitter app on the phone to scan the browsing history ? If they cannot scan my browsing history they cannot give me ads.
On another note, if there are companies who can scan tweets (such as stocktwits) to give you sentiment analysis, why cant Twitter do the same ? Have they realized that they just have a bunch of web developers who know only Javascript and can't do text processing using it ?
The only communications I know as a programmer is TCP and UDP:) Use TCP if you want a response from your manager otherwise he might be dropping his UDP packets.
The death of large firms like HP, Dell and IBM is inevitable. Whether the process of dying involves offshoring their services and/or manufacturing of their main hardware products, the cause is simply mismanagement from the top and lack of innovation on a large scale. IBM innovates in things like the Watson computer but that is a small division which if separated out from the main services division might prosper better on its own. Blaming employees in other countries who work for IBM for the reason for IBM's downfall is just bigoted nonsense and shows a closeted approach to looking at the real causes which is shitty management.
This is typical "doctor" talk. They are worried about ruining their day or malpractice suits. How about for a change think about not ruining a patient's life with your negligence !
What is wrong with learning using BASIC ? It worked for all those folks (including me) who learned how to program in the 90s. It was not difficult and was fun in its own way.
Actually, depending on how much floor space your friend has he can open a coffee shop first. Then add a Red Box or similar DVD rental kiosks. Maybe add other types of kiosks too thus forcing people to come in. With the volume of folks coming in your coffee shop can make some good money
Another thing that can be added is kids stuff like book reading, movie watching sessions and the likes. Reinvention is necessary to keep up with the times.
Have you tried Brother's printers. They work pretty well, are reasonably priced and have Linux drivers that work. I have been using their Laser printer for the past 3 years now and it has never disappointed me.
After sitting in a car from Hertz my butt hertz!
Can they not just look at your teeth and tell you how old you are then ?

Mr. McGuire: I just want to say one word to you. Just one word.
Benjamin: Yes, sir.
Mr. McGuire: Are you listening?
Benjamin: Yes, I am.
Mr. McGuire: Plastics.
Benjamin: Exactly how do you mean?
Why fart and waste it when you can burp and taste it !

Anybody working with classified info won't be allowed anywhere near these things.
But they also have lives... they might have cool toys at home like these headsets for playing video games...
shouldn't we be looking at ways to really build secure software around these devices rather than prevent people from using them...
it is a defeatist attitude where software folks instead of fixing their software say don't use it...
Make a new version for every 100,000 users you hit.

They are different aps if you change the color and/or some trivial functionality.
Finally a logical reasoning why Microsoft has multiple versions of Windows!

Why would you not use 9 instead of 6 ?
What a colossal waste of money !
Oracle and Google waste money on lawyers on such silly functions instead of spending the money on building more useful technology.
We as users are the only losers in this non-sensical fight.

Well, in all fairness, Einstein was quite a player.
How else do you think he came up with the theory of relativity ? If you have tons of relations, you get relative...
As someone who's barely used Eclipse, but uses VS pretty much constantly, what am I missing out on?
You're missing out on Java.
Well you seem to have a big foot (as per your slashdot id), so maybe you can kick him with it and find out.
