    But they are not talking about fingerprints here... here is an excerpt from the article..

    an agreement allowing law enforcement and security agencies to obtain private information -- like credit card transactions, travel histories and Internet browsing habits -- about people on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean.

    Also the 911 passports and visas were all legit.. although a few of them got their visa using a program called "express visa" (no consulate visit with interview), the majority did have to do an interview at the US consulate... but regardless of that, I have no problem with fingerprint or other biometric data. You need to better identify persons who might be a threat, and take preventative actions from them traveling for something like this to be successful... our system at the time failed big time.. and that was even with knowing that some of these people were bad people.

    As a matter of fact.. the people from 911 all had to apply for, and received, visas to get here.. so a lot of good even collecting the information does.

    These same people also hung out in Florida I believe.. and were also not citizens of the EU.. wouldn't it make more sense to collect data from all the citizens of the countries that these people came from ?

    Tell me all about your internet usage... Do you have Broadband ?.. what would warrant you to have broadband as opposed to dialup ? .. is your internet connection slow because of all these large file downloaders ? .. I think it's nice that you pay for all and your movies and music... but I don't game, why should I pay for the bandwidth of gamers ?... You see there are probably millions of people who use much less bandwidth than you.

    You know, we did the whole per hour and limit of bytes thing back in the 90's.. and it sucked... ask the people who got $400 AOL bills for a months usage.. Stop worrying about who uses what number of bytes for what.. That's not the issue.. the issue is upgrading the network to deliver the bandwidth that you pay for at a flat rate.

    That's just wrong.. I know some companies misinterpret the tax laws and do this, but that is paying double tax, because the shipping companies also charge tax on shipping.. If the shipping charges are reduced (they charge you the rate without tax) then tax on the total would probably work out pretty close.. would have to see their freight bills to know that though.

    (later getting her GED and now manages a GameStop store at age 21) while the oldest graduated high school an got her diploma but lives on SSI disability.

    Sometimes it takes some life experience (a job) for someone to better appreciate school.. perhaps she may still go to college.. I also knew someone who was on SSI for some mental health issues, and her life was not exactly easy.. it takes quite a bit of work to keep those benefits. It's a depressing existence (and depression was one of the things she was being treated for), wouldn't wish it on anyone.

    Citibank is light on locations in my area (Reno) and are in fact selling the accounts to Wells Fargo and shutting the branches down.. but 7-Elevens we have many of, and they are free of fees to use their ATM's for Citibank customers.. It kind of sucks that they did not give me a choice of maintaining an account with them without a local branch, as I never actually go to the bank anyway.. but I guess Wells will be ok.

    I would be interested to see if the border and customs agents can show any examples where they have foiled a terrorist plot, or nabbed a big time criminal based upon these practices. This is more like the practice of the police of hoping to get lucky when they stop you for not signaling a lane change and then asking if they can search your vehicle... I have let them do it, as most everyone has.. but one of these days when I have several hours to kill during something like this, I am going to say no you can't.. just to waste their time like they do mine.

    The thing is with these laptop searches is, I highly doubt they have any positive results.. perhaps they might once in a while run across some porn or something.. but I doubt they are finding squat that is useful.

    You seem to think that 189 satellites must use up an enormous amount of airspace.. how small do you think the earth is ?.. If you separated 189 objects equally in your home city, how far apart would they be ? .. in your state ? in the United states ?... and then you should also realize that the diameter at orbit distance is greater than the diameter on the surface of the earth.

    There are also label templates for OpenOffice but I think the glabel program will do what you want to do.

    I agree with your points about assertiveness, but here your mixing things..

    Women want a man who can demonstrate he can protect her, has the strength and ability to provide for her, and has the balls to stand up to other men who would give her trouble. I'm sorry if this causes you and others to feel sub-standard, but you can hardly blame women for your wishy-washy fearful personalities

    Protection - It's not exactly a Mad Max society that we live in.. My last fight ?. Jr High school.. Amount of times I've needed to fist fight in the 20 years since ?.. Zero.. Could I ?.. sure, but smarter is better, and more healthy.

    Strength/Ability providing- Well here you need to define strength.. and even providing.. and even then there are so many exceptions to the combinations.

    Bail out of trouble- This again goes back to the Mad Max philosophy.. I have had girlfriends who get themselves in these situations.. and I can always see it coming a mile away.. why am I smart enough to realize that that guy is not just wanting a friend to talk to.. or just wants intellectual conversation because she is so wonderful ?? .. but you see, I am also smart enough to know that women often put themselves in these situations for their own self esteem... of course I did step in and bail them out, but their stupidity reduced my attraction to them.

    Alright.. my way back story is that not only did I use hotmail before MS took em over, but after they took em over, me and my family members (who at the time were ICQ users) checked out out MSN Messenger which had the hotmail tie-in.. and long story short we have all been Messenger/Hotmail ever since.. And it's just became too much trouble to get everyone to switch to a different IM client. (although I use aMSN linux client it's still MSN network)

    I'm sure there are many other groups of people who are stuck with AIM or some other IM network for the same reasons I am stuck with Hotmail.

    Don't windows files have, created, modified, and accessed dates on them ? .. wouldn't you be able to tell if the files were even opened after they were installed by these dates ?? .. I would think if he's not opening them, then he is probably not the one who downloaded them (intentionally)

    Well there is nothing wrong with getting pissed off.. Where it crosses the line is how long you remain pissed off, and if you do something to retaliate. Granted it is not cool when someone does a bone head driving move that might have even gotten you killed.. but using your vehicle as a weapon, or threatening gestures, or getting out of the car to talk to them is not going to undo the wrong done to you, and it's certainly not going to teach a bad driver anything.. all it does it create more danger and ill will.

    Most people know when they screwed up trying to pass or drifting in your lane or cutting you off.. and even the best of drivers will eventually make one of these bonehead moves.. it's the people who can't let another's mistake go unpunished that are the true road ragers.. and sad thing is they are as dangerous or sometimes more dangerous in their behavior as the driver they are raging against.

    the difference is that child porn really is a very serious, awful, scourge upon our culture, whereas homosexuality is not

    Many would argue with you.. but that is besides the point.. both views are just tools used to induce emotion.. and it doesn't matter what the political party is, they will use it, if it gets the group they're after on their side, whether they believe in what they are saying or not.

    I've been around the net for a loooong time, and I just don't get all this child porn mania.. sure there are links with keywords like "teen" in them.. seems it would be pretty easy to arrest those guys.. what's up with that ? .. is it just talk ?? .. I think so... and you know what, I don't care if those sites are out there, or if gay porn is out there.. because it's not my thing and pretty easy to avoid.. (and I am not in law enforcement).. If they want to do something, then find out where this stuff is coming from and go after the abusers who make it.. the stuff has to come from somewhere. When I see arrests of photographers and producers of child porn.. I'll be on the bandwagon, until then it's all just talk, and makes our law enforcers look pretty lame.

    Me either, but it brings up something we always go through with employees every Christmas at work... Do you want a turkey or a ham ? .. We collect the information, buy the damn things, and it never seems to work out correctly.

    I've always thought it would just expedite the whole thing if we gave them all Turkey hams.

    What needs to happen is that Iraqi's need an injection of patriotism.. If they have to fight the people running around with the guns and bombs themselves, I think that's a pretty good start. Surely the general population who live there know who does and does not belong there. When it becomes more important to them that they are Iraqi, than what sect you are from then that's when it will change., as long as we are a third wheel in the equation it doesn't promote their self image.. when they are fighting for a stable Iraq for Iraqi's and turning in foreigners that don't belong then there is hope... With a third party involved (the US) you have one side or the other believing that things are in in the interest of the third party and not in the interest of Iraq as an independent entity...

    In the vacuum of a withdrawal by the US, the Iraqis will man up and be stronger for it.
