I went there on a field trip for my Modern World History class, and I would also recommend it. The Cloisters museums features many re-built sections of medieval monastaries, and is an excellent example of Christian art throughout the centuries. I'd recommend going in the fall; the view is quite breath-taking with the foliage.
I think is is in violation of a patent I filed regarding "An electronic method to store and search documents detailing grants made by a government that confer upon the creators of inventions the sole right to make, use, and sell those inventions for a set period of time"
From TFA: "In order to lead the data from and to the driving course to, the British set on a Wimax net along the distance, which is to?rtragen up to 32 MBit/s"
So they have a big Wimax router on the train which connects to several 802.11G routers throughout the train which give you your wireless.
For a minute there, I thought this article was going to be about how millions of teenage girls are displaying frightening symptoms: siting inside all day instead of socializing, playing computer games all day, turning away from reality. I guess the Sims has the power to turn girls into guys.
But that's not what this is about...
You do realize that when transferring the 1's and 0's that compose the audio files you are downloading to your iPod that the method in which they are transmitted has no impact on the audio quality whatsoever, right?
I mean, you could stand on one hill, and I could stand on the other, and I could turn my flashlight on and off and send you the millions of 1's and 0's that compose the MP3, and when you typed them all into the computer the file would sound just as good.
My cousins attend UMass at Amherst. They have little "laser gun type things" that they use to sign in. You just scan your ID with the scanner and it marks you as present. Some of their classes are in lecture halls with over 400 students. They just rotate who shows up to class based on day of the week.
You miss the point of the poster. New programs take about as much time to do things on today's systems as old programs did on yesteryear's systems.
Old programs are blazingly fast on today's machines.

$1500 for parts.
It looks kind of cool, only I'm pretty sure it takes more skill to ride one of these than a Segway. I can just imagine all the bumps and bruises people would get on these things. The guy in the video has to have his arms out for balance all the time.
Not just 40 pounds. 40 pounds a month. I keep my cable modem on my desk, and I wonder how long it would take before it weighed so much that it fell straight through!
Digital video editing eats hard drive space like a fat kid eats ice cream. I've done some tinkering with home movies, and I had to go out and buy an 80 gig HDD just for that. Raw video captured off of my camcorder takes up about a gigabyte for every four minutes. A 90 minute tape, which is convienently about the amount I can burn to a single DVD, takes a little over ten gigs of hard drive space. Now factor in the additional space required to edit and work with that video, as well as slice it into smaller clips, and it gets up to about 20 gigs for a single project. A full length project would be even more space.
Now imagine you were doing several projects, or that you wanted to back up the projects original parts. You don't delete your PSDs when you're done with a photoshop project, why should I have to delete my clips when I'm done with a video project? Only storage space is the issue.
The small size and form allow you to hold it as one might a book or magazine, making it much more suitable for casual web surfing or reading ebooks. But then when you want to type, most tablets swivel back around and you have your keyboard right there.
They're also bigger than PDAs for the kind of job where you need to walk around and take notes, making them more effective.
Not if the coast guard is using some sort of active detection system like radar. Plus the point is to spot the ships before they get close. This way we have 100 miles to intercept them instead of 25. Bananas or no, we'll know about it sooner.
"Nearly two dozen leading game publishers have committed to provide content for the Phantom Game Service, including Atari, Codemasters, Eidos and Vivendi Universal."
So they have at least some games. Those aren't the best companies in terms of making games, but you figure they'll be able to line up some decent content. Especially giving away the systems free and all.
The movie industry makes a lot more money from you going to the theatre and paying $10 x 4 for a family than renting it at home for $10 for a family.
Not to mention the employees at the theatre you support, and the $4 sodas you buy.
"1: Your GPS is better than mine if it works that well through the metal roof of most automobiles with nothing more than a cell phone antenna."
To my knowledge, cell phone GPS is done by triangulating your location to at least three other cell phone towers whose GPS co-ords are already known from more accurate, space based, GPS.
Too late, they're up 20% in the last five days. They're making me some serious money in the stock market game though.

Does anyone have some photos, or even better, videos, of these holograms? I don't know what they would look like, or how one has three dimensional "film".
Can anyone clarify? That site was lax on details.
I re-watched the Matrix the other night. You know when they're giving Neo the training programs on those disks? I thought it looked so funny how the disk went in the little tray then got slid into the computer, but if they could fit enough space on those puppies it'd be a pretty good storage medium.
But you can still fit wayyy more on a Blu-Ray DVD than a flash drive (for the price, anyway).
A caddy, in this case, is a piece of platic or metal or whathaveyou that encases the disk to prevent it from being scratched or damaged. Floppy disks are essentially just caddies for the magnetic media inside of them. An easy to scratch media would be much safer in a caddy, but this nice coating eliminates that need.
Buy an ATI Remote Wonder off eBay for like $25. It connects via USB and uses RF to communicate, so you don't need Line of Sight like you would with IR. Many programs feature plugins to make the remote work with them.

Digital != Analog.

They already have.

It's probably worthwhile to note that a voxel is the three dimensional equivelent to a pixel.
Volume Element instead of Picture Element.

Why did you mod this funny? Insightful, people. EPCOT was built to showcase future technologies.
