Anakin is the chosen one (TM) because Lucas said so.
Anyway... one thing on the balance is everyone assumes equal numbers on each side == balance and that Jedi and Sith are the only force users. There are plenty of other force users in the EU. How do we even know there wasn't at least one Jedi who got the message to not return to the Temple and thus survived with no one (not even Obi-Wan or Yoda) the wiser?
Balance could mean no Sith. It could be equal number. It could mean equal power. It could mean stopping something coming which would upset the entire galaxy further.
In Ep 1, the Jedi Council believed that the Sith had been extinct for a millenium. Also, in Ep 4, Obi-Wan says for thousands of years Jedi Knights were the guardians of peace in the universe. How could they have fought with them 88 years before?
I'd love to see the story of the Jedi coming to power, but it would have to be much further in the past than 88 years.
What "balance" means is never defined. Is it equal numbers on each side? Equal power on each side? No bad guys? No one who knows the deeper secrets of either side?
Also, the Jedi and Sith were not the only users of the Force in the EU (I'm not very familiar with details though). The examples I can think of offhand are the witches on Dathomir and the Sith-wannabe (not true Sith, just Dark Side using assassin) sent to assassinate Anakin in the Clone War cartoons.
And, as others have pointed out, the prophecy may not have properly interpreted.
I realize that some of the highest level gear, (IE the sword of hanna) isn't available unless you have raid groups. Others are, as I often see lightforge or valor armor for sale on our AH.
Many of the epic world drops are bind on equip and can be bought. About a third of the class set items are bind on equip, most are bind on pickup. You see lightforge and valor there, but only some parts (bracers, belt, gloves I think). The other pieces cannot be sold there. Same with many of the better weapons (epic or not - currently I use the Barbarous Blade, a nice blue drop from Dire Maul).
The epic sets I've yet to see more than two of any item even on the server. I'm probably the only one wearing Giantstalker's Bracers on my server.
As far as hunters, yes, it's harder to find 5-man groups, but it's easier for the raid-end game. You're much more desired than rogues for DPS since you hardly die and can do damage to Onyxia throughout the entire fight.

I HATE doing this because if you're paying with credit card at one of those (now rare) pumps you can't pay at, you have hand over the card and half to walk back to sign it.
Or, I'm paying with cash... I typically fill up my tank completely. I don't know how much that's going to cost until it's filled up. I either half to go back and get my change or go back and hand them a couple bucks more because I underestimated (and the pump shut off, not allowing me to fill it up and walk back and pay the difference).
I just don't like pre-paying in any situation other than pay-at-the-pump. It's not only a hassle, but such an inherent distrust of the customer. I know they can only trust people so much, but if it gets to where it feel adversarial with the customer, it's not good.
I believe this was a temporary account suspension rather than an ban. Many of the offenses for your first time it's a few hour to three day suspension.
If someone were sued for sharing because they were using a BitTorrent download, it would be interesting to see them use in their defense that the copyright holder made it available as a download because when they (**AA) started downloaded from the defendant, other users were then downloading from **AA.
Additionally, the **AA downloading would placing the files on the network out of their control as the parent is saying users do.
Granted, I wouldn't want to base my fortune on this, but still, it'd be interesting to see someone try!
Clinton does seem to get alot of credit for the budget, when not only was it the tech boom (biggest factor), but also a Republican led Congress shoved a balanced-budget plan down his throat that they'd been attempting to get for years.
You're supposed to barter...
You mean as in "I'll give you 5 lbs of freshly churned butter and 100 of hog meat for this game" bartering?
Or do you mean haggling?
"The Core" was perhaps the most incredible movie I've ever seen... if you take incredible as "not even remotely believable". It was awarded the all-time winner for worst movie physics, so my buddy and I rented it for laughs. It did not disappoint. I HIGHLY recommend it as a late night rented with a group of people with a clue.
One thing that does tend to get missed is that they DID find Iraq to have weapons that were in clear violation of the agreements resulting from the first Gulf War.
Since the books are always better than the movie, I'm watching the movies first, or else I'd be too disappointed by stuff left out when watching the flick.
A thumbs up for mwave from me too. Three friends have built their system with parts from mwave, and I've used their components to upgrade my PCs. I had no trouble returning a video card that was incompatible with my motherboard.
If I ever catch anyone downloading a whole album off me, I cut them off.
But downloading more gives you a better sample. I'm more likely to buy an album after hearing a few songs rather than hearing only one song. (I've learned my "but it on only one song" lesson in the past).

Agreed. My car plays MP3 files, and if I can't play it in my car without some hassle, I'm not planning on buying it.
I've done well with buying used CDs when I find them cheap.

If we can't use the internet until we're married, does that mean our mail order brides have to be sent snailmail from a hardcopy catalog?
Fridays killed Dark Angel too. It was doing pretty well on Tuesday. I think someone didn't think about their target demographic in that case...
Is this anything like Warcraft 3's Night Elves, and their Tree of Life entangling a gold mine?

In the same vein, I really hope the rumored Rocky sequel they're planning on doing will be called Rocky V.
I've seen at least one for rent in the not-too-distant past.
I've actually got a copy of it on VHS I believe.
I'm just glad someone made the connection to this movie.
You mean they weren't honest when they were advertising "superconducting metal"?
Now how am I going to construct my Doomsday Device (TM)?
Since the books are always better than the movie, I'm watching the movies first, or else I'd be too disappointed by stuff left out when watching the flick.
Reminds me of the scene in Tombstone:
"Your friends may get me in a rush, but not before I turn your head into a canoe."
"And you, music lover... you're next."
Which does make me think of something else... would anyone be surprised if the MPAA jumps in to help?
A thumbs up for mwave from me too. Three friends have built their system with parts from mwave, and I've used their components to upgrade my PCs. I had no trouble returning a video card that was incompatible with my motherboard.
... some sort of bandwidth throttling for students misbehaving in certain ways?
His food chain film strip in the episode where Lisa becomes a vegetarian is my absolute favorite clip on the show.
